The three women struggled but somehow managed to get the Doctor up to their flat, quickly placing him on Mei's bed. Jackie slipped away for a minute, returning with a pair of men's pyjamas as Rose helped Mei remove the leather jacket and shoes.

"Do I want to know?" the brunette asked, taking the clothing from her mother.

"Oh, don't get her started," Rose sighed, hanging the jacket on the back of the door, ignoring Jackie shooting her a glare. "Anyway, I'm going to assume by the clothes, and the face, that the Doctor has – what did he call it – regeneration?"

"Yeah, that's it," Mei agreed, brushing some of the Doctor's hair from his forehead so she could check for a temperature. "He died to save me from the Tardis's soul. That gold light I absorbed? It was the time vortex, apparently very dangerous even for him."

"So, this IS the Doctor?" Jackie asked, looking sceptical, "I mean, Rose explained some things to me, but I honestly thought you made half of it up."

"I promise you mum, it's him," the brunette smiled softly.

"Well, what's up with him?" Rose asked, "Why did he pass out?"

"Something about his regeneration going wrong?" Mei squinted, trying to remember while ignoring the pounding feeling on the inside of her skull. She lifted her hand to her temple, massaging slightly to try and ease it a little, "It happened so fast, I mean one minute we were kissing-" her cheeks burned at the wolfish grins her mother and sister gave her, "-and then he stumbled back from me, choking and gagging as this gold energy came out his mouth and then he went sort of nuts."

"Is he going to be alright?" Jackie asked, then perked up a bit, "Oh give me a tic, I have an idea."

She rushed off out of the flat, leaving the sisters to stare after her in confusion. Rose just shrugged and offered to make tea for everyone while Mei changed into some fresh clothes and then put the Doctor in the pyjamas. The brunette was very careful, not wanting to hurt him or accidentally wake him unless she absolutely had too, unsure of the affects it would have. Once finished, Mei sat by his side and held one of his hands, using her other to massage her forehead.

"You okay?" Rose asked as she returned, offering Mei a cup, placing another beside the Doctor. "Sore head?"

"Sore doesn't cover it," she admitted, taking a sip, "I uh - I don't really remember what happened, but the Doctor told me not to force it, the memories I mean." She winced as the pain spiked a bit, "He thought it was an after-effect of taking in the time vortex. Honestly, it feels like somethings trying to burrow its way out of my brain."

Rose frowned in thought, disappearing back to the kitchen to get her own cup of tea and the one she made for her mother. As she came to sit at the foot of the bed, she thought aloud, "Maybe it's just all the stress? The Tardis protected you before, right? Maybe she's trying to protect you from the memories of whatever happened?"

"Could be," Mei agreed, glancing at Jackie as returned with a stethoscope in hand, "Where did you get that?"

The woman shrugged with a slightly sheepish expression, "Tina the cleaner's got this lodger, a medical student, and she was fast asleep, so I just took it. Though I think we should take him to hospital. None of us really know much about this medical stuff."

"Not happening," Mei said, putting her cup down to take the stethoscope.

"She's right," Rose agreed as the brunette checked both sides of the Doctor's chest, handing Jackie her tea, "They'd lock him up. They'd dissect him. One bottle of his blood could change the future of the human race." Seeing her mother was about to speak, Rose put her hand over the woman's mouth, "No! Shush!"
