Nyla ~

I kept my sight on a deer about seven feet away from where I hid. Snap! I crouched down in time to hear a soft

moaning and the screech of the deer. What the?A zombie had it's face buried in gore.It looked up and sniffed the air.Shit.It charged at me and I brought my sword down hard on it's head, cracking it open.

"I guess the deer is a goner."

I pulled out a lighter and set both the deer and zombie on fire. When a animal or human gets bitten it will come back to life. Only different. I found out the hard way with my mom. I remember she looked normal. Then she bit my brother and that's when I remember shooting her

in the head.I was only five years old.

The ground under my feet disappeared. I screamed, but no sound came out.

I was in a dark room with a chandelier on the floor, and on the walls a huge, white 42 was painted on each wall.
"Hello?"
The room began to blur and I was at a beach and the water was  blood  red, like the moon.I watched as people ran past me and through me as their loved ones feasted on their own kind. They looked normal despite the blood spattered faces that grinned after each bite. "G-get away from me!"I backed up but I bumped into something cold.My legs were numb as I felt the pressure of a bite.
The world seemed to shatter like glass, distorting my vision of the once living milling around me.

The world came into view. The sky was white, and I was laying in soft grass.

"Hey,she's awake!"

Hushed voices were all around me and many people crowded around. "You okay? "Shadow sat beside me,holding my hand.I yanked it  away and sat up.

"I'm fine.I just hit my head."

Shadow ~

I watched as she walked away. Bill stood to my left.

"Nice try, pretty boy. "He nodded in Nyla's direction. "  'Round here girls are hard to come by."

"No shit,Sherlock. "I got up and sighed as I got back to work.

Planting crops wasn't that hard, but it was time consuming. It was sundown when I finally finished harvesting  rye. I lifted the light bundle and threw it into a wagon then mounted the horse. You could practically see the whole camp from the top of the sunny, little hill.I urged the horse forward and let myself drift into a slight haze until a arrow barely missed my head.

"What the hell?!

"Diddo, dumbass. "Nyla was hidden in plain sight. She walked past me and retrieved her arrow. "Did you see any game?"I shook my head.Nyla began to walk again.

"Where are you going? "

"Away from here."

"I'll go with you!"

She stopped, and I lead my horse to her side.

"Fuck off.You barely even know me."

She started walking again.

"At least let me get you a horse. "I got off it. "Her name is Moonshine."Nyla was on the horse and at full gallop as soon as I finished the sentence. Fuck.

"Come on!"I pulled on Max's reins and he wouldn't budge."Damn it.How the hell am I supposed to get you out of this stable? "With no one seeing us.

"Hey,Shadow, could you give me a hand?"

  "Sure. "
