Nyla ~
It's cold...I rode on horse back for a few hours till I was on the ridge of a steep hill covered in dead grass.There was a field spread out before me, and it was covered with the un-dead.
"Hey!Wait up!"
I jumped off my horse and aimed the sights of my gun at Shadow. I lowered it and walked towards him.He led my behind a bush.
"What the hell?"I whispered "You could've got both of us killed!"he shrugged.
"Can I come whith you?"
"Not after that stunt you pulled. "I started to leave but Shadow pulled me back by my sleeve.
"Look,Nyla, I know what I did back there was stupid,but,you shouldn't be alone."I sat down beside him and sighed. I know he won't go away any time soon...fuck.
"Number one:My name is not Nyla, it's Fire. Number two:You can come."I got out of the bush and looked back to see that he was relieved. "Where's your horse? "
Shadow nodded towards a patch of tall grass.
"Let's get going. "I mounted my horse and Shadow rode up behind me.
"But how the hell are we gonna get through that?"
I looked at the zombies.
"We run for it."Shadow snapped his reins and drew a long sword from a sheath on his belt.Damn.I took a quick look at my gun and unsheathed my katana.I urged the horse for full gallop and braced myself.Immediately pain stabbed through my legs and my horse whinnied in pain.
"Damn it!"Shadow was already at the other side in a tree.I abandoned the animal.I grit my teeth while fighting through a wall of flesh. Finally.The tree wasn't to tall or to short.I scrambled up.
"Fuck off. "Shadow pointed his sword at me. I easily broke his defenses and threw his sword to the ground. "Your bit."He backed away. This is why I travel alone.
"Look. I have the vaccine. "I tuned my wrist towards Shadow.It had N.A.M.E in bold following my most visible vein. I jumped out of the tree and ran like my life depended on it.
As soon as I was far away from any signs of moving beings I came across a highway.Cars were scattered everywhere. I walked for what seemed an hour and stopped,listining. I followed the sound to a blue truck.What the hell? A lady with dirty blond hair and a torn,blue dress.All of a sudden she began to slam on the window screaming.I quickly busted open the window with the hilt of the katana. She crawled out and layed on the ground.
"Ms...is anything wrong?"I knelt beside her. I always had a soft spot for women. She looked up at me and gripped my leg;her eyes were hysterical.
"Kill us!"
"What? "I leaned closer to her. She grabbed my hair and screamed straight into my ear "KILL US!KILL US!"I couldn't draw my swords so I grabbed my gun then wrenched free from her grip.As I got up she did to and staggered towards me."KILL US!!KILL U-"My gun clicked as I turned off the safety and shot her twice in the head.Shit. A small bump was on her stomach. She was pregnant. I looked down the road and sighed. A town may be near.
