Chapter nine~miltary

"GOD DAMN IT!! "I jumped off of my horse knelt beside Shadow .
"I'm fine. "He grunted. He had his hand covering a wound on his shoulder. "Get back on your horse. "He got up and we both mounted our horses. I snapped the reigns as soon as Shadow set off. We pushed the horses as fast as they could go down the high way past cars and zombies. More gun shots sounded.
Shadow shouted.''Let's head off the road! '''I did as I was told. We went off of the road towards a neighborhood that seemed empty. We would've known by now if there were zombies near by.I followed Shadow into one of the empty streets. He pointed to a small house at the end of the street. We got off of our horses as soon as we got a few yards away from the house. I rushed inside and closed the door once Shadow was inside. He grabbed a chair and pushed it against the door. "Help me,Nyla! "I nodded and pushed a table and two more chairs against the door.''That's enough..."He said breathlessly.
''I'll look around the house. ''I said as I took one of my katanas out of it's sheath. Shadow nodded and sat down to catch his breath. I made my way down the hallway. The house was practically falling apart. Paint was falling off of the walls in sheets. I opened the first door. Inside the room was a pink twin bed,a chest of drawers and a closet. I cut a long strip off of the blanket and exited the room. Next I went to the bathroom. It was small. The toilet was broken and so was the mirror. I opened the medicine cabinet and nothing was inside. I checked the other room but all it had was books.I went to the kitchen and inspected the cabinets. There was canned food and water galore. But a bottle of rose wine caught my eye. I ran back to the living room with it in my hand. Shadow sat there panting.
"You okay? "He nodded and I sat down beside of him. On the ground in front of him was a cloth with fragments of a bullet.
"Bullshit! "I yelled at him. I opened the bottle of wine."Take your shirt off." He giggled.
"As you say my lady." Once it was off I opened the bottle of wine.
"You ready?"
"Yep. "I poured it over the wound and he hissed through his teeth. I stopped and grabbed the cloth from the bed. Then wrapped around his shoulder. I made sure it was tight and went to the bedroom and got another piece of cloth. I repeated the steps and sat back to look at my work.
''Admiring the view?''I glared at him and he smiled back.
"I could totally pour more this on your wound if you want me to." Shadow put his hand over his heart.
"You really wanna torture me that bad?"
"Mayyyybeee..."I smiled at him. He shook his head and patted the ground beside of him.
"You know who those people were,right?"
I nodded. "So now I get my payback. "I sat back and put my ankle on his lap. He took off my shoes and my socks then rolled the leg of my pants up."Can you hand me the wine?"I did and he poured some on the knife,rinsing his blood off of it. Shadow put the knife to my skin and began digging the tracking device out. I grit my teeth. A few minutes later I was sweating due to the pain.
"All done,Nyla. "He put the tracking device to the side and poured some of the wine over the cut. Shadow then used the extra cloth as a bandage. He got up and crushed the device under his boot.
"Let's keep watch. "
