Persephone long hair flows through the mortal spring breeze. She hates Apollo more than anything but she has to give him credit for the beautiful sunsets he makes during the spring months. She looks around the forest that she ran away to and smiles. "This is my home now. No more work. No more pressure. No more boys" she says and sweeps her arm along the smooth green grass. She sits down on a tree stump at the edge of a cliff and continues to watch the sun go down. Beneath the cliff a large waterfall spews out glistening blue water. This is the closest she would get to happiness or so she thought.
As she gazes upon the cloudless sky, a mysterious vine slowly slithers up to her and her stump like a venomous snake. However, Persephone doesn't notice it. She is completely lost in thought.
Meanwhile, Hades and Demeter are almost at the forest. They walk along the rocky path until they reach a wooden gateway that encloses the forest. Hades notices that the gate is slightly open and looks down to see a fearful Demeter.
"Well at least we know someone is definitely here" Hades says solemnly.
"There's a reason why I kept her away from this place. Similarly to Tartarus, the things that live here are very scared of the presence of a fertility goddess. She still doesn't know how to control her powers. She is in great danger." Demeter shivers.
"It will be okay. She's immortal you know. Besides the creatures that lurk in this forest are in her domain. She's the goddess of spring after all" Hades says and pats Demeter on the back. They enter through the forest gate and walk on the subtle dirt path. In the distance, Hades sees the blinding sunset.
"Damn you, Apollo" he says under his breath so that Demeter doesn't hear.
"I am curious though," Demeter says and stares down at her feet.
"Huh?" Hades says; clearly confused.
"How on Earth did you fall in love with my daughter? I mean you've only known her for a month now. Have you even been in love before?" Demeter clarifies.
Hades pauses for a moment. He analyzes Demeter's question and looks down to her.
"No, I've never been in love before. I thought that I loved Minthe but really I was lying to myself to hide the pain and emotions. When I met your daughter, I found that i didn't want to live life like that anymore. Persephone made me feel better about myself even if i really am just a man that reeks of death" Hades says and smiles.
"Hmm...I don't think that i've ever heard you talk that way before. You really have changed" Demeter says and sighs.
Before Hades can reply, they hear a high pitched scream in the distance. Without a word, Hades and Demeter sprint towards the edge of the forest where they heard the screech.
"Demeter, wait! There's a cliff ahead!" Hades says and pulls her to a halt. The waterfall beneath them makes a large, unnatural sploosh sound but they don't notice it.
"That was scream! That was Kore! I just know it! She must be in danger!"
They survey the area but there is nobody in sight except themselves.
"Where could she be?" Hades says and rubs his forehead. He walks up to an oddly shaped tree and glances up at the branches.
"Demeter! Look there's a suitcase in this tree!" Hades exclaims.
Demeter looks up at the tree and sees a pink suitcase lodged between two branches
"That's Kore's! Hestia made that for her! She's here!
