"Scarlett!" Jack yelled down after the girl as she sprinted down the hallway at an inhuman speed.

"Leave me alone Froze!" She yelled over her shoulder, not slowing down once.

The girl burst into her room and slammed the door behind her, just as Jack reached it so that he was sure that the door touched his nose as it closed. He knocked on it carefully, pressing his ear close to the door.

"Scarlett, open up and we'll talk about this," he pleaded.

"I just want to be alone Jack," Scarlett called back, her voice sounding muffled as if she was lying face down in her pillow.

"You've been alone for so long, I doubt this is the right thing to do in a situation like this," Jack whispered softly.

"What do you know about being alone!?" Scarlett yelled through the door, making Jack jump, "What it feels like to lose someone you cared about!?"
Jack froze in the spot, biting his lip to hold back the tears that were springing forth. Sighing, he pressed his forehead and palm against the door, closing his eyes.

"Before I became a guardian, I had a sister: Lily. She was so energetic and full of life. She was dear to me... one day I went ice skating with her bu the ice was too thin where she was. I managed to get her away from the thin ice, but I fell through instead. The next thing I know, I wake up several hundred years later.... And no one can see me. I live like that for centuries, getting into a lot of trouble with Bunny as a result. I began to deal with being alone... not being able to see but there was still a part of me that ached when the guardians were mentioned but no one believed in me. And occasionally a kid would walk through me... like I was nothing. I had no idea why I was here or who I was before I was Jack Frost. It wasn't until I met North, Bunny, Tooth and Sandy that I managed to find out my past. I don't know what it feels like to love someone only for them to betray you... but I know what it is like to love someone you love."
There was silence on the other side of the door. Jack sighed, his hand sliding down till it fell away from the door and he took a step back. He was about to walk off when he heard the sound of voices and footsteps down the hallway. The voices sounded young and it intrigued Jack's overabundant curiosity and looking around, he spied the beams at the top of the corridor and flying up, landed on one of them and blended into the shadows.

He peered around the beam only to see Jason Summer walking down the hallway with the girl, the spirit of Spring.

"Why are we even down here?" the girl hmphed in annoyance.

"I want to talk to Scarlett," Jason replied. "Bella, we haven't seen her in centuries. The least we can do is say hi."
"You tried that," the girl, Bella pointed out sarcastically. "But the girl still hasn't accepted the fact that she wasn't good enough for you."
Jack gripped his staff tighter in anger. No wonder Scarlett disappeared for centuries. These two were unbearable to even eavesdrop on!

The two stopped in front of Scarlett's door and Jason knocked on it. Jack could hear Scarlett ask in a whisper for Jack to leave, believing that he was still at the door but when Jason knocked again, he could hear her bed creak as she got up and approached the door.

Opening it, Jack was surprised to find tears pouring down her cheeks, her eyes puffy and her face pale, "Listen Jack, I'm sorry...."
The girl froze, suddenly realizing that the person standing in front of her wasn't Jack. Looking up at Jason, she took a step back and was about to close the door when Jason pushed against the door, forcing it back open again. Jack gritted his teeth, preparing to fly down.

"Scar, we just want to talk," Jason said in a soft tone.

Jack could see Bella role her eyes while Scarlett purposely looked anywhere but at Jason.

"About what?" she asked in a low tone.

Jason sighed, pressing one hand against the frame of the door so the girl couldn't escape while Bella blocked the other way, "We didn't mean to hurt you when we left. It was just becoming uncomfortable being around you... you know.... With your feelings."
Bella snorted and was about to say something when there was a thud behind them. Spinning around, the three saw that Jack was standing behind them, the thud having been his feet landing firmly on the ground (him purposely stomping his feet when he landed to get their attention). His dark eyebrows were down in fury and his usually playful, boyish smile was turned down in a scowl and his face dark in warning.

"You know, I always wondered why Scarlett ran away from being a guardian for centuries. I mean, you suddenly learn that two people that you thought were your friends actually turn against you and decide that they are going to use natural feelings that you feel for one of them as a joke. Now, I understand why she left. I don't know how she managed to spend centuries with you two idiots. I can barely manage five minutes let alone centuries."
Jack's blue eyes flickered over to Scarlett who was staring at him in shock but there was a faint smile on her lips, and he smiled back faintly.

"Jack Frost," Bella drawled, crossing her arms. "I was right in assuming you were good looking. Why are you wasting your time on this good for nothing wimp?"

Jack would have run the girl through with his staff if Jason hadn't spoke up just then, "This is none of your concern man. This is between us and Scar."
"Between you and Scar...." Jack repeated in a sarcastic tone. "Yeah, between you and the scar that you left on her."
Angrily, the boy stormed forward and Bella quickly took a step back in shock. Jack didn't care that Jason stood taller to block his way, Jack was the same height and pushed past him to stand before Scarlett. The girl looked up at his tall form as he towered over her. Jack smiled softly at her before turning to stand partially in front of her, glaring at the two.

"If it has to do with Scarlett then it has to do with me," Jack replied in a warning, low tone to the two.

Bella took a step back to hide behind Jason while the tall Summer Spirit glared at Jack.

"And why is that?" Jason hissed.

Jack smirked before wrapping an arm around Scarlett and drawing her close to him, "Because she's my girlfriend."
