Serenity walked aboard the Enterprise along side Captain Pike.

"You know Chris,  I never thought the day would come when my position as 'secret weapon' would be initiated."

"Neither did I, but I'm glad you said yes, " Captain Pike stated. A few minutes later Uhura walked to Serenity.

"I didn't know you were assigned to the Enterprise. I almost wasn't." Uhura told her.  Serenity eyebrows went up.

"Wait... What?!" Serenity asked confusedly.  "Why?"

"Your mate said it was to 'avoid the appearance of favoritism.'" Uhura stated.

"Well, that's ridiculous. I'm glad your here. Where's Spock?"

"He should be here in a few minutes."

"Alright. If you seem him, please let him know I'll be waiting on the bridge." Serenity requested.

"Will do."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Mr. Spock!" Captain Pike acknowledged as the vulcan stepped onto the bridge. Serenity stood next to the captain's chair, as her position was required.

"Captain. Engineering reports ready for launch." Spock noted as he sat down at his post.

Thank you," Christopher stated. "Ladies and Gentlemen, the maiden voyage of our newest flagship deserves more pomp than circumstances we can afford today. Her christening will just have to be our reward for our safe return. Carry on." The captain sat in the chair beside Serenity.

"This is your Captain Pike. Prepare for immediate departure. Helm, thrusters."

"Moorings retracting Captain. Dock control reports as ready, thrusters fired." A yellow shirt stated. "Separating from Space dock." A minute later as the thrusters failed,  Serenity's comm for the Black Out buzzed. While Captain Pike spoke with the new navigator, Serenity got word that her ship was indeed attached to the Enterprise. After Pike finished speaking with the young russian genius Chekov, Serenity turned to her friend.

"The Black Out is willing to lend her power to the Enterprise." A wave of pain nearly crippled her as they drew nearer to Vulcan. "Chris!" Serenity  nearly yelled. Her hand clenched on his shoulder for support. "Something doesn't feel right, feels like a death day." Serenity told him, her head now felt like splitting in two. As if on cue, Jim Kirk burst onto the bridge.

"Captain!" Pike immediately rose from his chair and placed an agonized Serenity in his place. "You've got to stop the ship!"

"Kirk!  How the hell did you get on board?" Serenity passed out after hearing those words. Her death maiden soul left her body,  and traveled immediately to where the hundreds of screaming souls were gathered. She couldn't see where they were precisely,  but she did get the distinct impression that they were in close proximity to the planet of Vulcan. 7 ships... When her soul came back and her mind regained consciousness,  her hearing picked up Chris's voice one more. "And you know of this Klingon attack how?"

"Sir,  I intercepted  and translated  the message myself. Kirk's report is accurate." Uhura explained.

"We're warping into a trap sir. The romulans are waiting for us,  I can promise you that." Jim stated.

"The cadets logic is sound. And Lieutenant Uhura is nearly unmatched in xenoliguistics. Admiral Valentino holds that tittle. It would be wise to accept her conclusion, " Spock added.

"Scan Vulcan for any transmissions in Romulan."

"Ah,  sir. I'm not sure that I can distinguish the romulan language from vulcan." The cadet answered. Chris turned to Uhura.

"What about you, do you speak romulan, Cadet...?"

"Uhura, All three dialects, sir."

"Uhura,  relieve the lieutenant." The captain ordered. Serenity shakily stood up. The hold on her Death Maiden form was slipping fast.

"Yes,  sir."

"Hannity,  hail the USS Truman."

"All the other ships are put of warp sir,  and have arrived at Vulcan. But we  seemed to have lost all contact."

"Sir,  I pick up no romulan transmission, or transmission or any kind in the area, " Uhura stated.

"It's because their being attacked, " Jim put in.

"No..." Serenity spoke quietly. The bridge suddenly looked at her,  and her eyes were glowing a dangerous galaxy mix between pure white,  and abyssal black. "They're already dead..." Pike paused a moment before reaching his chair.

"Shields up. Red alert."

"Arrival at vulcan in 5 seconds...4...3...2...!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Captain were being hailed." Uhura put the transmission on screen.

"Hello, " A romulan male greeted them.

"I'm Captain Christopher Pike,  to whom am I speaking?"

"Hi Christopher,  I'm Nero." The romulan introduced himself, as calmly as if ordering a pizza. As Captain Pike tried to reason and negotiate with Nero, Serenity instinctively moved closer to Spock.

"I do not speak for the empire.  We stand apart, as does your vulcan crew member,  isn't that right, Spock?" As he said those words Serenity's eyes turned crimson,  and her flesh deathly white. Black feathered wings emerged and her poisonous fangs elongated. "Oh, and you brought your Angel of death with you too."

"Pardon me,  but I do not believe  you and I are acquainted." Spock spoke up.

"No,  we're not. Not yet. Spock there is something I would like you and your demon wife to see." After the romulan spoke,  Serenity felt another foreign yet familiar force in her mind. She grabbed Spock's hand in a vulcan kiss. Then with her starlight power,  teleported off the Enterprise. Serenity felt the pull of someone very familiar. She had a suspicion,  but it didn't make much sense. None at all.
