Regina was just entering her office when the phone rang.  She strode over and picked it up off the receiver confused as to who at the Diner would be calling her.

"Mayors office, this is Regina." She answered.

"Regina, Ruby here.  You need to get down to the sheriff's station." Ruby spoke hurriedly.

"What? Why?" asked Regina as she felt slightly sick, "Did something happen to Emma?  Is she okay?"

"Easy Regina, as far as I know Emma is fine.  But, David is livid and heading for the office right now!  Snow wanted me to call you and-" Ruby began to explain the fear evident in her voice.

"Say no more I am on my way now." Regina replied before hanging up and storming out of the office.

Emma had just hung her coat when David slammed the door open and glared at Killian.

"Hey mate, Henry get to school okay?" Killian asked in a friendly tone.

David clenched his teeth and struck out at Killian. His fist connected with Killian's jaw causing Killian to stagger backwards a little.  Emma stepped forward to push David away from Killian, but he just shoved her aside.  Killian blocked David's next punch and shoved the angry man back.

"Mate, what the hell?" Killian asked as he glanced at Emma.

"I'm not your mate!" David hissed as he came at Killian again.

David's next hit connected with Killian's ribs.  Emma tried to get between them again, but Killian pushed her aside as another blow caught him, this time in the nose.  David stood back and smirked as the pirate groaned and held his nose.  A little blood dripped from between his fingers. Emma grabbed a tissue for Killian to press against his nose and glared at David.

"That's what you get for touching my daughter.  Now I'm going to teach you a lesson in messing with my grandson." David stated calmly as he cracked his knuckles.

"David, back down now." Emma hissed as her blood began to burn beneath her skin.

Killian instantly noticed the change in Emma.  He grasped her arm and tried to pull her back from the standoff.  Emma shrugged him off and squared up at her father.  David glared at Emma and took a step forward.  Killian was bent over behind her wheezing and suspecting he had broken a couple of ribs.

"Step aside Emma." He instructed.

"No." Emma's voice was eerily calm as she balled her own fists.

"Emma, move!" David shouted as he slammed his fist on the deputy desk.

"No." Emma said again without flinching she stared down David.

David threw his coffee cup at the wall, "I said move Emma!"

The doors to the office flung open as Regina strode in. David looked back at her as she flung him up against the wall with her magic. The designs on the wall came alive and held David there. Emma breathed a sigh of relief as Regina walked up to her.

"Are you okay?" she asked in a worried tone as she inspected Emma or injuries.

"I'm fine, but Killian needs to go to the doctor." replied Emma as she rested her forehead against Regina's.

David glared at Regina as Emma slung Killian's arm over her shoulder.  Regina motioned for Emma to take Killian outside.  She followed them never letting go of David's gaze.   As the doors close David was finally released from the wall. He rubbed his neck where one of the branches had been holding him. He charged outside and looked all around, but they were gone.

Emma staggered into the ER with Killian as Regina ran up to the nurse and asked for help. Killian coughed as they helped him into a private room and laid him onto the bed. Dr. Whale walked in and gently prodded Killian's ribs. Killian hissed in pain and tried to move away from the doctor.

Whale sighed and turned back to Emma, "He definitely broke some ribs. What happened?"

Emma shook her head and shrugged, "He just staggered into the office like this. Luckily, Regina had stopped by and we were able to rush him here.

Regina was leaning against the wall, "We think he got into a fight, but don't have a clue who it happened with."

Whales sighed, "Could it have been Gold? Their history is well...dicey."

Emma shrugged, "I don't think Gold would have let Killian walk away."

Dr. Whale nodded as he set Killian's nose straight and but a bandage across it. Killian groaned and tried to turn away from the doctor.   Whale stood and said he'd be back in a few to take x-rays of Killian's ribs.  Emma thanked him and after kissing Killian's brow followed Regina out into the hall.

Regina sighed and pulled Emma into a hug as the girl's eyes began to shine with tears.  Regina rubbed her back and whispered encouraging words as the events caught up with Emma.  Emma leaned on Regina as the tears subsided and sighed.  Although no one interrupted the two women, a few nurses gave confused glances.  Regina couldn't blame them the last time they had been here there was a screaming match.

"It's going to be okay, Emma." Regina whispered as she pushed the other woman's hair back from her face.

Emma sighed and hugged Regina back, "I never thought he'd go that far."

"I know," replied Regina.

"Can you keep Henry for the weekend? Killian is probably going to need all my attention with his ribs." Emma asked softly.

"Of course, what kind of mother would I be if I didn't take care of my children." Regina replied as she wiped away the last of Emma's tears.

Emma sighed, "Thank you."

Regina smiled sadly and rubbed Emma's arms, "Let's step outside and get a little air, okay?"

Emma nodded and let Regina lead her outside.  They sat on one of the benches and Emma let her head rest on Regina's shoulder.  Regina stroked her hair as Emma collected her thoughts.  A breeze swept up and Emma raised her head to look at the woods across the road as two wolves emerged growling.  Regina felt her breath catch as the creatures crossed the road and came closer. Emma stood and squeezed Regina's shoulder before approaching the wolves.   The wolves pressed against Emma's legs and whined. She knelt and looked at the two wolves with a small smile.

"He'll be okay, just a broken nose and a few ribs." Emma spoke softly.

The female wolf pressed her nose to Emma's cheek and then looked back at Regina. Regina felt herself begin to panic. Emma looked back and smiled encouragingly.

"It's alright, Regina. They're from Killian's crew."

Regina stood and shook her head, "Pack you mean. From what you told me I would guess the female is Delilah, your sister."

The wolf gave a lopsided smile and Emma nodded, "Yes, this is Kassandra's true daughter, Delilah. The male is Smead, the beta of Killian's pack."

Regina nodded to both wolves, "Hello, I'm Regina.  I'm...uh.."

Emma smiled, "My adoptive mother."

The wolves stepped forward and both licked Regina's hands.  Regina looked up at Emma confused.  Emma smiled and wiped away a single tear.

"You've been accepted into our pack...mother."

Regina pulled Emma close as tears threatened to spill, "I have waited eleven years to hear you call me that again."
