Leya's POV:
After I explain things to him he still looks a little bit doubtful so I run over to Reden, who's packing things up. "You have to listen to me," I say. "You have to convince him I'm not lying."
Rykor catches up to me and pants a bit. "I didn't....say you were.....lying...." He runs his fingers through his hair in an attempt to calm it down a bit. "What....you're saying is just....a bit out there."
"Ry, are you good?" Reden looks a bit concerned. "She-man over here ran that distance just fine."
Rykor looks a bit put off at this realization and straightens up, clearing his throat. "I'm fine."He turns back to me. "If what you're saying is true, this could take days to rescue your captain...Silas? It would take too long to organize a substitute, cancel the meetings, bless the babies," He says sarcastically. "let alone the wedding preparations, they were far behind schedule after you got yourself kidnapped," he says, unnecessarily bringing up the events that succeeded my arrival at the Gloann palace.
"SCREW THE WEDDING PREPARATIONS; THIS IS SOMEONES LIFE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT!" I throw my arms up in exasperation, taking a big step closer to him to make my point clear.
He raises his voice too. "SCREW I FALLING INTO AN ASSASSIN'S TRAP AND WASTING TIME; THIS IS THE FUTURE OF BOTH KINGDOMS WE'RE TALKING ABOUT."
"WEll if you DIDNT go back on YouR PRomiSE and LET me get HuRT SiLas wouldn't have LEft and we wouldn't be in this meSS."
"WELL IF YOU WOULD EVER TRUST MY INTENTIONS--."
"BREAK IT UP, LOVE BIRDS!" Anna gallops into the field on a black stallion.
Because I'm so close to Reden I hear him mutter under his breath, "...whoa.." Because she looks pretty intense. She has on a black cloak with a red tube-top type thing and black leather pants, and black combat boots. Her hair has been let out of tight braids and is falling over her shoulders, contrasting the rest of her dark outfit and horse.
I shake my head slightly at her clearly intentional dramatic entrance, folding my arms patronizingly. "I'm sorry," Anna says as she nears me, "Until you don't argue with my brother like a five year old I won't yell at you like you are a five year old."
Reden interjects, "aren't you two the same age?" Anna athletically jumps off her horse, and walks up to him angrily. He steps forward and it looks like a fights about to break out so I grab Anna and Rykor grabs Reden and says, "Until you two can breathe within five miles of each other without screaming bloody murder, I'm afraid I can't let you go."
"You're one to talk," Anna and Reden say in unison. They both turn her heads to the side, angry that they said the same thing.
"Okay," I say in a sarcastic tone, "we're all adults, right? We've all trained and led armies into battle. We've looked death in the eye and tried to kill it with an army of soldiers."
"Do you have a point?" Anna asks, yanking her arms from my grip.
"We're mature enough to have a civil, strategic conversation, Anne," Rykor finishes my thought exasperatedly. Reden was struggling in Rykor's grasp, trying to break free from him like Anna had from me. But Rykor was stronger than I was, and he couldn't break out. Anna took the opportunity to stalk over and kick him in the side. Rykor dropped Reden and wrestled his sister to the ground, his eyes flashing gold. Once he had her pinned he held her still until she stopped fighting.
"You done yet?" He asked smugly.
"ThaTs not FAIR!" She yells in his face, "IM NOT THE FREAKING EldeR DRAGON."
"No," Reden stands over Anna's head and brushes himself off. "You're just Lady Annabelle, the Elder Dragon's loyal sidekick." She yells frustratedly and looks at her brother with pleading eyes. He sighs defeatedly, and sits up, giving her free reign over her movements. She, without wasting a moment, whips her legs around and trips Reden, and lunges over on top of him, engaging in some very advanced martial arts.
Rykor stands, brushing some grass off of his shirt. He, without paying any attention to Anna and Reden who are practically biting each other's ears off, walks over to me and asks, "this isn't a joke?"
I turn to face him, suddenly noting how close we are. "Huh?" I ask, red spreading across my face. My breath catches and I avert my eyes, inadvertently staring at his lips.
"You and Anna are serious about this? This is truly life or death for Captain Silas?"
"Oh. Yeah, yeah, for sure," I bring myself back to the real world, shaking my head to clear it. "It doesn't only involve one man's security, but his knowledge of the palace's guard could compromise the guests and staff at the....the thing."
"Wedding?"
I gulp. "Yes. That."
He smirks, leaning back and throwing his hands in his pockets. "OKay."
I raise my eyebrows. "Really?"
He chuckles, "what? You doubt my motives?"
"I simply doubt that you don't doubt my motives." I say honestly
He actually laughs, leaving me utterly stunned. We hear Anna yell victoriously, having pinned Reden, who was very red in the face, to the ground. Rykor brushes past me, muttering, "Get over yourself, sweetheart," with a smile on his face, and walks over to pick his sister off of Reden.
"Come on," he chides, "We have to get going." That catches her attention. She stops thrashing and gives Rykor a big hug, promising he wouldn't regret it. Reden storms past me, muttering not so nice things about the Princess Anna in a language I didn't recognize and mounting his horse. "We going? OR what?" He asks impatiently, rubbing his shoulder.
Anna, myself and Rykor all mount our horses and Rykor asks where we're going. Anna, because she was the one with the vision, says something about a northern village, and we start riding. Little do we know, we have a follower.
