Rykors POV
I walked into the mists, following Harum and Leya, having no idea what would await me. Yes, this whole ordeal had been my idea, but I wasn't certain that it would work.
Soon enough, the mist was so thick and encompassing that I couldn't see them anymore. I tried to yell out to them but my voice wasn't working.
Rykor Harys, I heard a voice in my head. You are foolish to be so close...
"Who are you?" I tried to say, but again, no words came out.
I am your blood
A gust of wind behind pushed me forward.
I am your power
A gust of wind from above pushed me to my knees.
I am your divinity and doom
Blood rushed to my head and I struggled to think.
"You are the Elder Dragon," I spoke convincingly in my mind.
You will see....
My legs, as though they had a mind of their own, wrapped themselves into a cross-legged position, and my head was thrown back to the sky. I found myself in a different world, the one I travelled to at night. When my brother visited me.
In front of me stood the Elder Dragon, which was a confusing ordeal. It was like I was looking in the mirror at my aspiring self, the side of me that controlled the other.
The Elder Dragon spoke demeaningly, "You are small"
"I see," I say.
"you are weak," he continues
I laugh "why have you brought me here?"
"you did not seek a conference with me? You do not care for the whereabouts of my descendants, your friend? Your sister?"
I tense, "where are they?!"
"you are hasty,"
I roll my eyes, "yes. Now where are they??"
The Elder Dragon sighs fire through his nostrils. You have yet to uncover the full picture, vessel. There is much for you to learn."
I snap, proving his earlier accusation of me being hasty. "then tell me. The Elder Dragon is loyal to its own, who are you to let innocents die under your bidding? I'm here for my people."
"you seek much information, vessel. To help you understand would be....expensive."
"what do you want?"
The Elder Dragon laughs coldly, condescendingly. "I want victory. I've given you, through your fathers, an incredible blessing. You are my chosen servant, and you have served me, through the blood of our enemies, greatly. You are a mighty warrior, but you have yet to conquer the Equus Dragon. The dragon resides within these mountains, and you have yet to fulfill your destiny...I must admit, a warrior with so much red on their hands being unable to kill one measly dragon is quite beyond me, and I am an all knowing deity."
I knew that the ancient war between the Elder and the Equus Dragons was the pivotal point of the war between Gloann and Brinn, but I had to try to convince him of peace. "were not going to fight your war anymore. In one week we are conjoining our lands and building a powerful empire. I will not kill your enemy—that's not my job."
The Elder Dragon snarls intimidatingly, "then I am unable to give you the information you require. I have tried to strike a deal with you, but you are steadfast in your cowardry."
