Maya : yes , it was last Christmas
Ms. Kossal : is something wrong Maya
Maya : yes it was the last time I saw my cousin before he was shot and killed in March
Ms. Kossal :I 'm so sorry Maya
Maya : thank you
Lucas : puts a hand on her shoulder
Riley : WHAT why didn't you tell me Maya
Maya : Riley it really hurt me I just needed some time to myself and my family ,we were really greiving
Riley : oh ok but I could have still helped you
Maya : no you couldn't Riley you never had to deal with anything like this you don't know what it feels like so you can't fix it there's some things in life you can't fix and this is one of them , there not good in everybody some people are just full of hatred there not any good in them you think life is full of sunshine and rainbows and unicorns but it's not my cousin was murdered
Riley : I'm sorry Maya
Maya : thanks , did you paint a purple cat
Riley : yep and her kittens
Maya : oh that's different
