Square One

Back to the day,
which marked the beginning
of chase and run.
When ways parted,
peace within me flared to burn.

Lost myself in the
maze called life.
All the blood relations
consoled with strife.

So many twists and turns,
examining my emotions.
Fell hard on ground,
they questioned my devotion.

Everyone turned their backs,
left no one by my side.
I was just a child,
who loved park and slide.

From that day on,
everything distorted.
I stood emotionless,
to cheer me up fate flirted.

Years after that day,
wounds are still left, undone.
My soul pined for happiness and fun.
Suddenly it feels like,
I am back to square one.
