Paleto Bay was packed with people; the smell of fried food filled the air and the sound of music could be heard from a mile away. I was so excited to get out of Sandy Shores for once, but I found myself distracted at the same time. Was Ron right again? Did I have feelings for Trevor? I mean, yeah, I cared for him, but was I falling for him? As Trevor parked the truck, I forced the thoughts from my head and climbed out of the truck with Ron.
"Okay, we're here. Now what?" Trevor asked grumpily.
"Well, we go and get wristbands." I explained.
"Wristbands?"
"Yeah, it lets you on all the rides." Trevor, Ron, and Wade followed me as I led them toward the festival. The line for the wristbands was long, but we finally made it to the front and I paid for the wristbands, much to Trevor's content since he didn't want to be here anyways. "Okay, Trevor, what do you wanna do first?"
"Go home." Trevor deadpanned.
"Can you please try to be more optimistic?"
"Fine." Trevor groaned and began to look around. "How about the bumper cars?"
"That sounds good to me."
"I wanna go to the petting zoo!" Wade whined.
"We can go there later."
"But I wanna go now!"
"I can take him." Ron volunteered. "I don't do so well on rides."
"You sure?" I asked.
"Absolutely! You two go have fun, if you need us, we're a phone call away. That, or we'll be at the petting zoo."
"Okay. Well, have fun." Trevor followed me through the festival until we hunted down the bumper cars. We flashed the worker our wristbands and climbed into two cars; the other cars were filled with teens and small children. "Take it easy on the little ones, Trevor."
"I LEAVE NO SURVIVORS!" Trevor cackled as his car sped off towards the closest child and knocked them back a couple of feet. "OUT OF THE WAY, SLOWPOKE!" Trevor backed up and rammed another car, sending it flying. "NOTHING CAN STOP ME!" All the kids instantly began to gang up on him as he maniacally laughed and sped around the track. I began to drive around and take out the teens that were after him, knocking aside a few cars before my car lunged forward. I looked back to see Trevor gripping the steering wheel tightly and backing his car up to ram me again.
"Trevor!" I exclaimed as I quickly drove out of his strike zone. A couple of kids hit his car and blocked him from moving, allowing me to ram him from behind. The look on his face was priceless. Pissed off, shocked, and yet amused."I said go easy on the kids!"
"YOU'RE DEAD, DE SANTA!" I quickly backed up and drove across the track as Trevor struggled to escape the trap. When he managed to get away, he turned his car towards me and we both sped towards each other simultaneously. We were getting closer. Twenty feet...ten feet...five feet...and suddenly, everything was still. Every car in the track came to a halt, except for Trevor's. His car was violently shaking as he tried to force the car to move by jerking the steering wheel and stomping on the gas pedal.
"Time's up!" The worker called out.
"NO!" Trevor roared. "I WAS SO CLOSE!" Everyone climbed out of the cars and left the track, leaving Trevor and me behind.
"Come on, Trevor." I smiled and offered him my hand. "We can ride again later." Reluctantly, Trevor took my hand and pulled himself out of the car.
"You win this round, De Santa." Trevor grumbled. "But next time, you won't be so lucky." Trevor followed me off the track in silence and began to look around.
