A loud crash woke me up. I realized I was still tucked in the corner and stayed there. Mac's voice sounded through the door, it sounded like someone had come through the balcony doors and knocked him out. This can't be good. I thought. I squished my back against the wall and made myself as small as possible.
The door knob giggled and turned slowly. I covered my mouth to keep from screaming. The door swung open and a man in a red and green camo jumpsuit walked in. With luck the light from the suit didn't reach me and I remained hidden.
The man slowly walked to the bed to see it was empty. He sighed and made his way to the bathroom.
"Where is she?" He sighed and flicked on the light. I screamed and threw a lamp at him. "It's okay Kat! I'm the good guy!" He dodged the lamp with ease and prepared himself for another attack.
"Who are you and how do you know my name?" I ordered and held up the letter opener.
"My name is Steve and it doesn't matter how I know your name." He help up his hands and reached for the letter opener.
"Did my dad send you? How did you know I was here?" I questioned further.
"No and these questions can wait. We need to get out of here before someone comes to check on you." He grabbed my hand and I pulled away.
"How can I trust you?" I glared at him.
"Because anywhere with me is better than being stuck here." He stated. "Now please come on." He pulled me out of the bedroom by my arm.
"Steven what is taking so long?" A child was standing on the balcony with his arms crossed.
"Sorry Ming Ming." Steve shrugged. I repeat the name in silence looking confused. Why was the child dress like an elf?
"Are you Santa!?" I shouted.
"No! Now let's go." He barked and rolled his eyes eagerly. He lead me onto the balcony. "Here, climb up." He pushed me towards a rope ladder.
"No way Jose." I shook my head and Crosse my arms.
"Now we are in trouble." He looked when the elevator dinged. "Hurry!" My eyes widened and I started climbing.
When I reached the top Ming Ming helped me up and Steve was right behind me. Steve untied the ladder and ran to a sleigh?
"How the hell?" I cocked my head at the sleigh drawn by two reindeer. "You have to at least know Santa." I chuckled.
"Get in!" Steve and Ming Ming ordered
"How are we going to get off the roof?" I asked while stepping in. "Fly." I chuckled and sat down.
"Exactly." Steve smiled at me.
"Wait what?" I looked at him in shock as he flicked the reigns and the sleigh took flight. "Holy shit! This is not possible! What the hell?" I screeched and grabbed onto Steve.
"Ming Ming help." He coffed and pulled at my arms.
"Kat. It is perfectly safe. Let Steven go." Ming Ming said calmly. I let go, my hands were trembling uncontrollably.
"S-so is that Dasher and Dancer?" I asked in a shaking stutter.
"Of course not. They are out with Santa Claus. This is Chet and Fret. The twins of Vixen and Prancer." Ming Ming stated as if I should know.
"And why d-didn't the real Santa rescue me?" Ming Ming looked at Steven.
"Well... I'll explain later." Steve kept his eyes straight ahead. I sat back in my seat and held on for dear life.
