Chapter 1

"You free Saturday night?" My friend, Lacey, asked me. "Oh, don't you dare be trying to set me up with someone again," I replied, crossing my arms against my chest. 

"Oh, come on, Riley!" Gabriela threw her arms out almost hitting Kade as he walked up behind her. "Woah there," He grabbed her arms and put them down to her sides. She laughed, "Sorry." 

Kade sat down in one of the chairs at the table. We were at my mom's restaurant just like we were every afternoon. "Kade! Make them stop with the stupid dates!" I cried out and he laughed. Gabriela sat down, putting her legs on Kade's lap. 

"Yeah, stop. It's  a waste of time. She's forever alone anyways," Hunter said, pulling out a chair and facing it backwards. He sat down, crossing his arms against the back of the chair. "Excuse you?" I looked at him. He smirked at me, "When was the last time you had a real relationship?"  

He was my last relationship and he knew it. I don't know what went through my mind, but I suddenly said, "I'm in a real relationship already." Lacey's eyes widened. Gabriela's mouth went wide with shock. "What? Who?" Hunter seemed like a 'bad boy', but if you get to know him, he'll be really protective and caring over you. He may not seem like it with his sarcastic tone and almost constant smirk, but trust me, I know. 

"Uh... He doesn't go to school with us. He's already in university," I said, trying to sound as if I wasn't lying. "Who are you and what have you done with Riley?" Kade asked, laughing under his breath. 

"What's his name?" Hunter asked, looking at the wall. My heart stopped beating for a split second. Who could I say? It can't be anyone that's in our school. It has to be someone in university. It has to be someone that I know would help me with this. Dan. 

"Uh, his name is Dan. Dan Howell."
