Another day of boring school. The only parts that were actually pretty enjoyable were lunch and study hall. Only because my study hall teacher was not too strict on us actually studying or doing work. The fact that I shared that class with Gabi and Hunter made it even better.
Finally, the day was over and I was free to go to my mother's restaurant with Kade, Hunter, Lacey, and Gabi. So, we headed off, walking down the London streets that were now crowded with the many students getting out of university and school. This was my last year in school and then, I'll be off to university. It's unbelievable.
We arrived at the restaurant and I threw my stuff down on the table that we usually sit at, which is conveniently in back, near the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen, hearing chairs being pulled out by the others. Mom was at the stove, cooking something. I walked up beside her, resting my arm on the counter and trying to pose cool.
My mom only laughed, "what do you want, Riley?" I acted offended, "why do you assume that I want something? Because I don't. I was just gonna tell you that I'm going to a party on Friday." Mom gave me a weird look. "You? A party?" She asked, raising her eyebrows. "You're making me seem so anti-social!" I said, stomping out. I heard my mom laughing.
I walked back to the table, instantly spotting Hunter who had my phone in his hands. He was scrolling through something. I ran over and snatched my phone from his hands. I looked at what he had been reading. It was mine and Dan's conversations. Hunter glared at me and got up, grabbing my arm and pulling me over to where none of the rest could hear us.
"You lied?" He growled out. I bit my lip and nodded, looking down. "You really got a fake boyfriend just so they'd stop with those damn dates? They just wanted to make you happy, dammit," Hunter whispered at me, forcefully. I looked up. He angrily sighed and walked over to the table, grabbing his stuff and walking out.
I saw the rest of my friend's eyes land on me. Tears were filling my eyes as I went to the kitchen. "Mom, I'm going home early," I heard her yell back an okay as I walked back out, quickly grabbing my stuff and exiting the restaurant.
I started walking back to my flat. Tears progressively fell down my cheeks more and more. I finally got to the building, going up the stairs as quick as I could without falling on my face. I'm unlocking the door when I hear the door behind me open.
"Riley?" I heard. I bit my lip and turned around to be faced with Dan. "I was about to go to the restaurant- What's wrong?" He asked, noticing my tear-stained cheeks. "Hunter knows. He knows that you and I aren't really dating. I wouldn't be surprised if he went off and told Gabi, Lacey, and Kade already. It's safe to say that I have possibly lost my best friends because of a stupid lie that I made up," I rushed out, breathing heavily.
Dan placed his hands on my shoulders, "Riley. Riley, calm down. It'll be okay, I promise." He tried to reassure me. I nodded hesitantly. He smiled weakly. "Now.. How about we go into my flat, eat popcorn, and watch Death Note?" Dan suggested and I nodded, smiling a small bit. At least, I'll still have Dan if this goes downhill.
