"Let's shop your pain away," Gabriela said enthusiastically as we walked into the mall. I laughed under my breath. "Or we could just walk around being idiots like we used to do, just plus Phil and minus some others," Kade suggested. "Yeah, some others.." I mumbled.
"Come on!" Gabriela grabbed my arm, pulling me to a store. I rolled my eyes, going in with her. Every time we happened to do this, we didn't buy that much, but more tried on lots of stuff all at once. Quite a few weird pictures would be taken along the way usually. It's almost like it's a tradition for us. So, as usual, the day consisted of sunglasses, weird hats, fandom t-shirts, as well as us finding some cool things along the way. Also, a lot of resisting to buy everything we saw.
That lasted a couple hours and afterwards, we seemed to walk around aimlessly through the entirety of the mall. Soon enough, we all agreed to head over to the food court area.
"Where are we eating?" I asked, looking at Gabi and Phil, then Kade who was ahead of us. "Well, I think that's Kade's decision since he's practically running to the food court," Gabi said with a laugh. "I'm sorry, I'm hungry!" Kade exclaimed, glancing back at us. He turned his head back, slowing down a bit, but still moving faster than us.
"So, where are we going, Kaden Dakota?" Gabi asked which made Kade look back with a glare. "Don't call me that," he said as he turned back and looked around as we approached the food court. His eyes stopped somewhere, then he stopped. We looked at him weird. He turned around, "I think we should just go somewhere else to eat."
"I thought you were hungry?" Phil mentioned, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, but I can wait. Hey Riley, how about you pick?" Kade walked over to me as he spoke, turning me around and putting an arm around my shoulder. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him look back at Gabi and Phil, and he pointed back behind him. I looked at him weird, pulling out of his grip and looking back to the area it seemed it pointed at. It only took a couple seconds for me to find what or who he was pointing at.
Lacey and Hunter were at a table together near the middle of the food court. I nodded, biting the inside of my lip. I watched as Lacey laughed at something Hunter said, then he eyes drifted over to where we were standing. Her eyes met with mine and I saw her nudge Hunter.
"Okay, lets go then.." I turned before I could see Hunter look at us and started walking the opposite direction of the food court. After a few seconds (in which I was sure Gabi, Phil, and Kade all exchanged glances, trying to figure out if they should have stopped me), I felt their presences following behind. Kade walked faster, catching up and putting his arm around me supportively. I smiled sadly, looking down as we walked.
A/N:
Yeah, I know, I said I would try to update more, but I just have no ideas for this. I do kinda want a Kade vs. Hunter fight though. Physical. I want them throwing punches, haha.
Also, I'm Megan, most of you should know by now that there are no such things as happy, drama-free chapters. That just doesn't happen with me writing. If you didn't know that, then you obviously haven't read my 6AM series and anyone who has will tell you, I don't write happy stories. (That series was an emotional wreck, I hate it.)
Anyway, leave your feedback in the comments! Hit that vote button and make sure you go follow me as well. Thanks for reading!
