Chapter 11.

Magnolia sat on her bed cross legged, Kaida spread out on the pillow beside her, laughing as she read Pansy's letter. Magnolia missed her friends; they had been written to her, but she wanted to see them. Daphne, Tracey, Pansy, and she were trying to organise to meet in Diagon Alley to all buy their new school supplies together.

Magnolia had felt guilty when letters arrived from her Slytherin friends two weeks into the school holidays; they had all sent the letters with one particularly quiet but handsome Eagle Owl so the Dursley's couldn't punish her. She had ripped into the letters and written back in the middle of the night whilst the owl waited patiently on her bedside table. Harry had sat on his bed, Hedwig's cage next to him, glaring at the larger owl and huffing as he hadn't heard from his friends at all.

Three weeks later, on the twin's birthday, Magnolia had been woken by Harry at one o'clock in the morning, looking particularly dishevelled. She hadn't needed an explanation when she looked at the scene behind him; Hedwig, a school owl and the Weasley's owl Errol were on his bed, Errol looked unconscious, and perched regally on the window sill stood the same Eagle Owl that had delivered Magnolia's last batch of letters.

This time, he had brought letters and presents from her Slytherin friends and Harry had already placed the gifts and letters from their Gryffindor friends on the end of her bed. Magnolia saw her Hogwarts letter on her bed as well and smiled; that meant it wouldn't be long before she would be back at the Castle. After reading the letters, opening the gifts, and writing letters for the Eagle Owl to take back, Magnolia had fallen back to sleep.

Later that day, Magnolia was stood in the front room, cleaning, as she heard Harry ask their Uncle to sign their permission slips for Hogsmeade. Unfortunately for them, their Uncle's sister was coming to stay with them for a week and Uncle Vernon wouldn't sign their slips until they had made it through the week with her. Magnolia rolled her eyes, she detested Marge.

The rest of the day, Magnolia spent cleaning the Dursley's house as instructed. If her friends could see her now, Magnolia knew exactly what they would think; she was being treated like a house elf! It didn't get better when Harry and Magnolia were forced into making the dinner for that evening. What she wouldn't have given to have her wand right now!

"Still here are you?" Marge barked that evening.

Magnolia rolled her eyes as her brother answered.

"Don't you roll your eyes at me, girl!" Marge shouted, "I see you haven't changed at all since I was last here. I was hoping that school would knock some manners into you."

Magnolia glared at the woman, she wished she could show Marge exactly what her school taught her then Magnolia could knock some manner into Marge.

"You mustn't blame yourself for how they've turned out, Vernon." Marge said, "If there's something rotten on the inside, there's nothing you can do about it."

Magnolia glanced at her brother; he gave her a warning look, but Magnolia could see her own frustration mirrored in his eyes.

"It's one of the basic rules of breeding," Marge had continued, "If there's something wrong with the bitch, there's something wrong with the pups-"

Magnolia jumped as the glass in Marge's hand shattered, glass shooting across the table. She looked to Harry guiltily; had that been her or him? Uncle Vernon jumped up to his sister and started fussing over her until she waved him away. Aunt Petunia just watched Magnolia and Harry suspiciously.

"Not to worry, must have squeezed it too hard. I have a very firm grip. You, girl, clean it up."

Magnolia felt her brother squeeze her hand under the table and stood up taking a deep breath to calm herself. Keeping her head down, so Marge couldn't see the scowl on her face, Magnolia quickly cleaned the table of glass.
