After the icy shenanigans at his old school, Samuel remained homeschooled for the rest of his life, spending most of his time avoiding human contact, studying and training with his icy powers. He had been trained well by his father and learned how to create ice constructs and even cast minor illusions. However, he never purposely used his powers outside of the safety on his home in fear of someone discovering it.
However, with his new college life, Samuel would need to make some changes. He would spend much of his days outside in the vicinity of strangers.
On the first day of college, Samuel nervously navigated the campus, avoiding as much eye-contact as possible by looking down. With his focus on his feet instead of what was ahead of him, Samuel crashed into a girl walking directly towards him, knocking his textbooks onto the ground. Samuel knelt down immediately to pick his things up, knowing that he already attracted way more attention than he needed to. The girl also knelt down to help him with his things. Their hands accidentally touched and Samuel jerked his hand back with a sharp sting coming from the girl's hand.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. Static." The girl pulled her hand back and slowly stood up.
"It's okay." Samuel muttered, grabbing his things and standing up as well.
As Samuel looked up and looked at the girl, who looked surprisingly familiar. A few awkward moments went by as Samuel looked into her eyes until the girl spoke up.
"Haven't I seen you somewhere before?" She asked.
"I thought you looked familiar too." Samuel answered. "I'm Samuel, by the way."
The girl looked at him for a few moments and suddenly wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
"Samuel! It's me, Virgo. It has been so long!" She gasped excitedly.
"You mean Virgo from 5th Grade? I thought you left the country or something?"
"I did. But I came several years prior to attend college here."
"Wow it's been so long, we need to trade contact information!" Samuel pulled out his phone.
"Smooth Samuel, getting a girl's number." Virgo smirked, grabbing his phone and typing in her number.
Samuel blushed furiously and entered his contact information into her phone as well.
"I'm joking!" Virgo laughed, slapping his arm. "Anyways, I gotta get to class, I'll see you around. Bye!"
Virgo waved and left, fading into the crowd of students.
