Girlfriend

It was already two o'clock in the afternoon when I finally made it to the spot Janine told me to go. She told me last night to go at this place. Since I have nothing else to do, I decided to come along with her.

As I was observing the place, I quickly noticed her presence. She's wearing a simple blouse, skinny jeans and a pair of doll shoes. She's very simple to stare at. I was about to step my foot forward to her direction when I quickly noticed Jacob, Olivia and Gabby with her.

Shit.

I swallowed the lump on my throat and continued walking towards their direction. Everyone stare at me like a stray dog as I got to their place.

"Bro. Why are you here?" Jacob said and everyone is still looking at me, except Olivia who seem busy on her phone. Who is she texting to?

"J-Janine told me to go here and she didn't even told me that she's going to make a group project with you g-guys"
"Both of you are dating?" Jacob asked in a very very annoying pitch of voice and that made Olivia glanced at us.

I swallowed another lump on my throat and I can feel that my hands are trembling again. Shit. This feeling again.

"W-Well, y-yeah. After this group project, Mike and I will eat later together, wanna join?" Janine said enthusiastically which made everyone tease her even more, including me. Olivia just smiled awkwardly and brought her attention back to her phone.

At the most unexpected time, the girl I really adore shows up.

"Bro, can we talk?" Jacob said and excused himself to his groupmates and we walk meters away from them. I let out a sigh as a relieved to be a litte away from them, especially to Olivia who seem really busy with her phone earlier.

"Is it true that you're dating Janine?" he whispered then look back and forth to the girls meters away behind us.

Should I tell him that I somehow like her? It's not because of last night, but I just realized that, she's really there for me.

"Y-Yeah. Why? Is there something wrong?" I asked

"Are you seriously out of your mind? Bro, we're talking about JANINE DANIELS, the fucked up girl who dated lot of guys at once! She's only playing you, bro. I know that we shouldn't chase one girl, but bro, you're joining a marathon. I tell you, with that girl, you're literally joining a marathon."

"Stop it, okay? I know her. And we're just starting smoothly, Jacob. Don't say whom I should be with just because you dated Olivia, the girl I truly love. But game over, bro."

"But, bro. We only teased you for fun."

I walked away and sat beside Janine. Jacob went over too, with an awkward smile. I shook my head and opened my phone.

Everything is so stupid.

All I want is to be love. Is it really too much to ask?

After their group project, Jacob and Olivia joined in our company. It is certainly weird and some of my friends showed up in a fastfood chain we are in.

It's really weird and frustrating.

"What is this? Double date? We didn't know that both of you got back together, or even both of you that we unexpectedly see together here." Cody teased and I just rolled my eyes because of annoyance.

"Oh no, we're not dating. I'm just waiting for someone. Jacob, tell them" Olivia said and I can sense that she's a little annoyed that's why she instructed Jacob to tell it to my friends.
