I'm staring in disbelief.

"Do I know you?" it comes out a lot harsher than I intend it to.

I mean in my defence, he has actually never spoken to me. I sense for a split second he is a bit taken back by my comment, but only for a split second as he regains his cocky yet alluring confidence once again. Extending his hand out towards me he introduces himself.

"Chad Baker."

I am lost for words as I stare back at the man in front of me. He's perfectly structured jawline, styled brown hair, and surreal lips.

"Vic...Ronnie Tate, but you already knew that" I wink. WINK!! Must be the drinks.

Chuckling he says, "Third time I've seen you today."

"Must be your lucky day." Don't ask me where this confidence has come from.

Pulling Tessa away while I still have some dignity left, I hastily grab her hand and I give Chad a little wave. Tessa is now taking charge and leads us to the dance floor. Dance Monkey comes on. One of the most overplayed songs of the year, but let's face facts its catchy as hell.
Tess and I are dancing like crazy and singing along to the words.

It's a few songs later now, and I think I should take a break and get some fresh air. Now indicating to Tessa that I am going to get some air, she shouts back at me over the music.

"I'll see you back here in 5."

Grabbing another drink on my way out I begin to head towards the garden. I can see an empty spot in between a couple making out and a drunk guy passed out. I'd rather stand.

I am now looking around for another free spot. Spotting one, I see it next to a guy facing away from me on his phone. I can't see his face but its the better option for sure. Walking, or rather swaying, towards the spot I sigh as I sit down, cursing my black Jimmy Choo boots that after the dancing are failing to keep up to the "comfort" they promise. Pulling out my own phone I can see a few emails and a message from my dad with the minutes taken at the meeting earlier today.

Great thanks, Dad.

"Can't get enough of me?"

As soon as I look up I realize the mistake I've made by choosing to sit here. With Chad's smirking face looking start at me, I begin to flush under his stare.

"I didn't know it was you."

"Relax I'm just joking Ronnie," my stomach jumps as if I've just been on a rollercoaster when he says my name. What was that? I brush it off, thinking it's probably just the beer.

"I don't see you at these often," he states.

"Yeah, I've just swapped majors so I've had a lot of catching up to do and I have family obligations most weekends."

I can see him about to say something but then it's almost as if he decides not to. Before I can ask what he was thinking, he cuts me off.

"You want a drink?"

"I think I've had enough thanks," I chuckle indicating towards my now empty cup, "I can come with you though to get one if you'd want. I could do with a bottle of water."

He doesn't reply, but instead is now grabbing me by the hand and begins to fish us threw the crowds to the kitchen. I feel an immediate electrical shock run through my body as his hand touches mine. I wonder if he felt that.

I see us getting stares from multiple people as their eyes are full of disapproval looking at our interlocked hands. I can sense the "oh there he is with another one."

The kitchen is surprisingly empty. He opens the fridge and grabs a bottle of water for himself and I. I take it and practically gulp half the bottle. I take a moment to look at Chad.

He is lazily leaning against the counter talking to another jock that has come into the kitchen. My eyes racking in his rock hard body I can see from through his fitted black shirt and ripped blacked jeans. His brown hair seemed a bit tasselled and there seems to be a drunken sparkle in his eye.

Wow, he is hot.

As I'm looking now, I realize he's taking glances at me to.

It can't be.

I shake my head to get the thoughts out, must be something behind me.
