It's the end of the week and I still haven't heard from Chad, I am beginning to think I dreamt the whole situation in the dorm.
Luckily enough Tess is here to remind me with her continual gushing of what she had seen on Tuesday night.
"Ronnie, trust me I saw the way he looked at you and you guys were going to kiss! He's probably just been busy with football practice and is going to call. It's three weeks before the first game" she tells me for the sixth time with a reassuring smile.
"Tess, I am really not hang up on it anymore, promise."
I was telling the truth.
By day two I was so busy with school work and the never-ending folders arriving from Moore Inc. that I didn't have time to let it cross my mind.
This last week has gone by quite well. I had made enough progress with my Uni work that I am now ahead. I have also made progress at Moore Inc.
I have begun to understand the business world both academically and practically.
I am happy to be sitting in our dorm room and enjoying a much-needed movie-marathon Saturday night with Tess. Popcorn and a good chick-flick is exactly what the doctor had ordered. After two movies and just genuinely having a good catch-up, we fell asleep peacefully.
The next morning I am waking up to the sun streaming on my face and I smile as I look around the room. Tess is fast asleep at the end of my own bed. We must have fallen asleep head-to-toe. There is popcorn in bowls and my laptop still opened on the floor. I slowly ease myself out of bed and walk around the maze on the floor to my wardrobe.
Putting leggings, running shoes, and an oversized hoodie on I grab my headphones and head out the dorm ready to take a little run to start my Sunday off right.
As running out the main entrance I get a message from my dad.
Hey Honey, Can you please meet me at Moore office tomorrow morning at 8.
I sent a quick response that I had a class from 9 till 11 but could come through for lunch.
I continue to start my run and the sun is shining beautifully. The morning day literally feels like Disney movie with the sounds of birds chirping.
I turned on my music and life felt blissful.
Ending my run, I begin to make my way back to the dorms. I walked up the stairs and my legs feel like jelly after the 20 minutes I've run. I reach our door and I am excited to ask Tess if she would like to go for brunch at a nearby cafe. It was such a beautiful day and I didn't want to waste it. Opening the door I see Tess sitting on her bed and I smile thinking how lucky I am to have a roommate like her. I push the door further and am very surprised to see who is sitting on my bed.
He is leaning against my headboard wearing a plain white Tshirt and ripped washed blue jeans. His stormy eyes intensely reading a term paper from my desk I had written a few weeks ago.
