The day after yesterday wasn't as eventful as most days seem to be. We mostly just took a breather, and stayed inside. Our last year at U.A. was coming to an end, and we were slam packed with finals and exams coming out of nowhere. It had been really stressful at the time, so everyone agreed it would be best if we acknowledged the weekend, and took some time to think about ourselves. After all, nobody wanted to have a bunch of anxiety right before school was ending for good.
I myself didn't do much. I just laid on my bed, either studying, reading, or just being responsible, and taking some time to care for myself. However I was making my bed, until Uraraka decided to call me. Flustered, I stared at the phone for a bit until I answered her call.
"Hey Uraraka! W-What's up..?" I asked her in curiousity of why she had called me. There had been many possibilities, and they all ran back and forth in my head.
"I just wanted to check in on you.." She started, sounding a bit nervous and concerned. "You've taken this day to study and care for yourself, right?" I ended up raising an eyebrow, even though she wasn't able to see my visible confusion.
"Of course I have... how come?" She sighed into her phone as I could hear her shaking her head solemnly.
"You haven't come out of your room all day! Which also means you haven't eaten at all today, and it's already 12:30pm! Have you even got dressed, or took a shower at the very least? I want to make sure you're being responsible."
Oh my. Uraraka has never been this uptight with me when it came to being responsible, she never really got uptight with me at all though... strange."I... well I have taken a shower and I got dressed..."
"Okay, come on out and have some food! You must be starving by now, so care for your body!!" She has sighed again. "I'm gonna go now. Bye." Okay, now something was up. She had never acted like that for the past three years unless she had a really good reason.
"Bye!" I decided to say the word peacefully, and happily, so then that could lift her spirits up. I didn't want to sound all dull, and for then for her to be in an even worse mood, or just for her to be upset for the first part.
Once she hung up the phone, I did as she asked, and got some food. Even though I wasn't hungry, I didn't want to disappoint her. I decided to make myself some toast with marmalade on top, and so I did. I sat on the couch (like always) while I was eating, and guess who popped up from being me. Uraraka!!
"Boo!!" She squealed. I was rather startled, and jumped a tiny bit. But when I turned around and saw her cheerful face, the two of us laughed, her hands still caught on my shoulders. However, as she was wrapping up her cute little giggling, she paced around the couch and jumped down next to me, our faces only inches apart. She smiled at me with a gigantic smile, and rocked her feet back and forth. I smiled back at her too, but my face got incredibly red, as a bit of time passed, hers did too. We didn't know how to respond to this, so we just looked down, and awkwardly chuckled. However, she decided to break the awkward silence, like she always does.
"Thank you for actually getting some food... I was concerned for you.." At that moment, I began to blush again.
"A-Ah... y-you don't have to be concerned for m-me... it's all o-okay..!" I grinned. She responded with a cute, small laugh, and not long after I began to follow along. "...But thank you." She tilted her head slightly in confusion, and let out a small sound. "Thank you for always being so sweet and caring. You're always thinking of other people, and all you want is for everyone but yourself to be okay." Her eyes began to light up, as she stared at me with a look of determination and joy filled on her face. She wasn't smiling, but I could tell how happy she was. "You're such a wonderful person, and an incredible friend. So, thank you for that. Thank you for everything." I could tell she was about to cry, so I was about to tell her to not. However the instant I was going to begin my sentence, she tightly wrapped me around my arms, as I struggled to hug her back. However, I finally managed to succeed. I could hear her lightly sob into my ears and she gave out a faint whisper.
"Thank you, Deku. You're also so amazing and selfless, and that's one of the many things I love about you. You're brave, gentle, kind-hearted, and that's what makes you you. So I'd like to thank you for always being such a wonderful person." My eyes began to light up, just like hers had once before. We sat there, hugging for quite a while, until we surprisingly broke it up in sync, our hands were still placed on each other's shoulders however. We gazed into each other's eyes, until I began to nervously laugh it off, but she slowly joined along.
"I... I think we should let go of each other's shoulders now... hehe.." She recommended, flustered, her face was all red. I shot up in surprise. What on Earth had I been doing?! I instantly let go of the chocolate haired girl, and chuckled nervously. "Well, I-I'm gonna go back to my dorm, I'm gonna study, and you should too. I don't want you to do bad on the upcoming exams!! Goodbye Deku!!" She got up, and gracefully walked off. I stared at her, until I mentally yelled at myself to stop daydreaming and get up before anyone saw me and thought I looked like a fool.
I did as she said once again, and continued to study. I didn't want to fail either. The three major tests that were coming up decided whether or not we can even graduate, or become a hero at the very least.
As the sun began to set, I decided to be responsible, and prepare for the night early, so then I could have a good nights rest.
Once again, today was a good day.
