Here we go. This was it. I was going to go aloft.

I snagged a white coat from the Guard-s room after getting that one Guard's I.D. The man put his card down on the desk that was just by the door. It was easy getting them.

I took the lab coast and I.D. back to my room. The coat was too long for my small body, so I ripped the sleeves off and ripped the hems shorter.

I slipped the six eating utensils into the left pocket. What was left of the coat, I put it on under my gown. Nobody was going to see it on me. The eating utensils might make a little noise, hitting together in my pockets, but I could always hold it while I sneak. Even just in case if I needed to run too.

I climbed under my blankets and the waiting game began.

There was a male Nurse with a bright flashlight who would always check in on the SL2 Hospital Patients. They opened our doors and would look in on us with their modern electronic torches. The bright light would only last for a few seconds. Then he could close the door and leave me alone.

I had my eyes closed for the whole time he was checking in. I would slowly breath in and out, as if I were sound asleep/

I opened my eyes and looked up at the far end of the room. There was a clock that I would never really pay attention to. I listened to it tick and tock.

The waiting game continued.

4 hours. It was 1 O'clock in the morning. It was go time.

I quickly jumped out of my bed and began rolling up the blankets under my first on. After that, I put the spare pillow under the blanket.

There. It was done.

I hurried over to the door and cautiously opened it. I looked both ways, checking to see if anybody was coming or in the hallway.

There was nobody. Here we go. Adrenaline was slowly beginning to rush through me. So intense.

I hurried down the hallway to my left and stopped next to the Guard's room door.

I peered around the corner. There was one Guard and he was asleep. snoring. He seemed like he was enjoying whatever dream he was having.

Good. Now for the card.

I lifted up my gown, reveling the torn lab coat. The picture I.D. was in my right pocket. I quickly dug it out and moved past the door.

I raised my right arm and hovered the card's barcode over the scanner. A green light scanned the barcode... then the heavy double doors slowly slid into the walls in opposite directions.

Just behind these doors is the lobby. I see the elevator doors. I see freedom. There's no looking back. I see them! I see them, I see them, I see them, I see them... And here I come.

I grab onto both of my pockets through my gown and began racing toward the doors.

This is it. I'm doing it. I'm finally doing it.

You promised me,

didn't you?

I get to the doors. My body slams against them, which caused a loud sound. Did anybody hear it? I didn't care. This was it.

So don't you forget just yet.
