"You could have brought me coffee, at least. It's a little early."

They stood against the brick edge of the roof, right where her and Chanyeol usually stood. It almost felt like a slight betrayal, the roof had been deemed theirs in her mind. Chaeyoung looked down at the street below awkwardly while Jungkook scratched at the back of his neck.

"Anything before noon is early to you." He chuckled, it was obvious he was nervous.

But so was she.

Chaeyoung cleared her throat as it fell silent again. He wasn't speaking. The old her would have brushed this whole issue off, telling him it was whatever just so they could move on, just to make things good and grand again. Her happy mask that Chanyeol's had been the only one to see through. The new her that was morphing with each passing day was tired of the old her. Chaeyoung thought she was on this first place pedestal of carefree but she hadn't been when it came to other's feelings over her own discomfort.

"You wanted to talk."

"Yeah," Jungkook huffed his breath. "I do." He leaned against the ledge, fidgeting with his thumbs. "Look, I know you don't why I don't like him."

"No, I don't. You are the only one to still have an issue with him. Why?" She demanded, cutting to the chase.

"From the first day, he literally corrected your technique by comparing it to touching a man's balls."

Chaeyoung scoffed, if only he knew. "You are still stuck on that? I don't care about that stuff, Kook. I'm not going to be treated differently in the kitchen because I have a vagina. Chanyeol could speak to me how ever he would like, he's the head of our kitchen."

"Chanyeol?  You say it so casually."

"Is this what you wanted to talk about? Because I'm pretty sure we've had this exact conversation before." She stated with frustration, pushing off of the edge of the brick. If this was his plan, then it was a waste of her time. Chaeyoung could be tucked away in the apartment Chanyeol. Her ears craved to hear his morning grumbles and voice instead, possibly even with his head between her legs.

His hand caught her wrist, "Just, hold on." When she stopped at his grasp, Jungkook dropped her wrist. His doe eyes pleaded her to not leave. "I'm sorry, okay?"

"When has that ever been a good apology? Not only have you been hovering over me like your girlfriend, you've been in such a bad mood over everything! I just want my best friend back, the one that didn't act out because our boss looked at me. Jungkook, you and I will nev—"

"I'm over that." He cut into her words quickly.

Chaeyoung shook her head, not convinced by his tone in the slightest. It sounded like he was just saying what she wanted to hear. "Are you, truly?"

He nodded, "Tyuzu and I... we are hanging out more. I like her."

She knew Jungkook could easily lie to her for the small things, but this seemed bigger than the rest. If he was lying, he wouldn't be able to look her in the eyes and say it. All she wanted was for him to be happy and stop pinning after something she would never change her mind over. Taking a step forward, Chaeyoung stared straight at him, dropping her sass and attitude.

"I know you don't think that I've noticed it, but I have. I feel guilty for casually dating a guy or dancing with one at the bar because I don't want to hurt you. Especially with how closer we are, or were." Chaeyoung took a deep breath, suddenly wondering if she was ready to hear his answer aloud. "This is the last time I'm going ask. Either answer honestly or drop it and forget about it, completely. Just as I am going to do."
