Addie's POV:
I laughed at a picture on Twitter of a painting my best friend, Jordan, and her boyfriend, Jerrid, made. I tried to figure out what it was, in my opinion it looked like a fat horse. I read the caption. 'A golden retriever @jerrid_reedan and I made while we were drunk last weekend.' With a laughing face emoji. While I was on Twitter I realized I hadn't posted anything in a while. I decided I wanted to post a selfie, so I looked through my camera roll and found a selfie I took a while ago.
It was a pretty good selfie. My long brown hair was curled, I was outside and it was fall, so I was wearing a black suede jacket. I had light makeup on. Just some concealer, winged eyeliner, and mascara. I was smiling with my teeth and there were some trees in the background with beautiful red, orange, and brown leaves scattering the ground below.
I posted the picture and added the emoji with the brown falling leaves as the caption.
I put my phone down on my bed and started to get ready for school. It was my last year of high school and I was 17. I had light blue eyes and a good complexion. I was about 5' 6" and had long legs and curves in all the right places of my body. I had a fair sized chest, and wide hips. I'd also been told I had quite a nice bum. I wasn't fat, I was actually skinny, but not too skinny. I guess you could say I was about normal weight. I brushed my hair and examined it. Today my hair cascaded in loose curls down just past my shoulders. I decided just to leave it like that, since it looks good.
I wore dark blue jeans and a lighter burgundy knit sweater. I wore black converse on my feet, not the high top kind though. I chose some diamond stud earrings too. I added some concealer to my face along with some winged eyeliner and mascara, my usual look. I applied some deodorant and sprayed on some perfume.
Satisfied with my look, I grabbed my phone and checked the battery. 100%. I had left it plugged in while I was getting ready. I grabbed my headphones and my school bag with some money for lunch. I headed downstairs and grabbed an apple and some coffee. I lived alone, in New York.
I checked my phone and saw that I had 14 comments on my selfie.
I sighed as I started replying to comments. The first one was from Jordan.
"Bitch, give me your face, now" With a heart emoji, a laughing face, and a gun emoji.
"Only if you give me yours, babe @jordanbennettes" I replied with a laughing face and a heart eyes emoji. I laughed at our cheesiness.
I replied to the rest, smiling at all the nice compliments, from people I know relatively, some I only knew somewhat, but I know them nonetheless. Except for one.
"Can't wait to see that beautiful face in person." Which was followed by a smirking emoji. It was from a username I didn't recognize. 'Hs1994'. I clicked on their profile and saw their page was private. Their picture was a boy sitting on a curb with a camera in front of his face.
"Okay then..." I said to myself. I decided to ignore it and locked my phone. It was probably just some creepy kid that was moving to my school and knew I went there or something, and that's why they mentioned seeing me in person.
I went over to the sink and washed my coffee mug. When I was done, I put it away. I went back to grab my phone and saw that I had a text from a blocked number.
I unlocked the phone and read the text.
"Hey, babe. I can't wait to see you today" with a winking emoji. Okay, now I was feeling a bit uneasy.
"People." I said to myself.
I finished my breakfast and brushed my teeth. I put my headphones in, before heading out the door. I locked it behind me and started walking, singing along with the song Foreigner's God by Hozier.
