The week prior to Darren's arrival(Saturday) was strange. Not only were hours abnormal because of the upcoming holiday, which would give us Sunday AND Monday off, but Elijah's behavior towards me seemed a bit more comfortable. It took me no more than a minute to get over my embarrassment from the weekend, but Tuesday morning, when Elijah greeted me at the office entrance with coffee, I nearly shit myself. No one knows how much I rely on this short walk, ALONE, to prepare myself for the day. Strangely enough, I don't think I mind this surprise. At the moment, we are walking down the empty halls to the office. As heads of this business, its only natural for us to come in earlier then everyone else, especially before a holiday. This would have been a nice tradition with Hank, though I wouldn't make him get me coffee. In fact, I only got it for him because it's the very least I could do. I smile to myself as I recall how embarrassed he was when I started getting him coffee. He was never able to convince me to stop. My heart aches for a moment and, like many times this past week, I severely miss that old man.
"The office is awfully quiet at 5 am." Elijah finished with a yawn. Elijah's words tune me back in and I silently nodded before taking a sip of the coffee he made. I cringed. Elijah turned to me, "Is it not good?" He asked. "Not at all" I said with a gag. My cheeks flushed as I realized my words may have been too rough. Lucky for me, Elijah just laughed. Sheesh, that is something to look at. I laughed as well. "It tastes- like you might have-mistaken salt for sugar", I said through my laughs. It really tasted terrible! At this point, we had stopped walking. When I pulled myself together, I had noticed that he was staring at me with a small smile playing at his lips. I felt heat rush to my face as I came back to my senses. He was too close, too much looking, what do I do? "——I'll go make us new ones" I rushed to say before reaching out to grab his. But as I did this, he had pulled his arm back which caused my body to move closer to his. For that short moment, it seemed as if I could feel the heat coming off his body, carrying his pleasant scent with it. His strong stare was definitely on me but I couldn't bring myself to look up. Instead, I immediately moved back, closer to the other wall of the hall we had been walking. I slowly looked up to question him but as I did, I saw him move closer to me. As he reached for my cup, he spoke near my ear, "I'll take care of this-", and as he pulled away, he gestured with his head down the hall, "-go on ahead. Ill meet you in our office." Elijah finished with a small smile. Uh oh heart stop work.
He swiftly turned around, going into the break room. I let go of the breath I was holding in, then turned away from his direction and walked to our office. My mind was blank by the time I reached my desk. To re-focus, I began cleaning up and re organizing some materials and stationary on my desk. I looked around the open office and took deep breaths. Usually, a situation like that, alone with a man, would leave a heavy pit of fear in my stomach. But instead, it seemed as if that was pushed to the back of my head. It was still there, but overpowered by some other feeling I cant quite understand. One I'm not sure if I hate or like. I shook my head from those thoughts and looked out the big window next to my desk. The park was gently lit by the pale sun. It was definitely effective in calming my loud chest. I closed my eyes for a moment, taking in the silence of the morning blended with the cool air in the office. Maybe my life can become pleasant again, working with Elijah.

I wanted to see if I could make some money for school bills by working for transcription services but none of them hire in my area/region!? How cruel~
