Hi everyone ! I am so sorry for not posting for so long, but I have had a bit of writer's block and I have also been really busy lately. So sorry, but please forgive me with this great song that I wrote this story about that you will hopefully like ! If that makes sense... xD

"Should I ask him out?" Summer asked her best friend Alice, biting her lip and gazing at popular guy Ryan, who was sitting at another table only metres away talking to his mates. Shifting in her seat, she glanced over to Alice, waiting for an answer. Alice glanced up from her food and frowned, looking over to Ryan.

"Ryan? Not him. He just broke up with his girlfriend, so he wouldn't be looking for love yet. I'm surprised you're interested, since you just recovered from a breakup yourself," Alice said. "Anyway, the guys are meant to ask the girl out, not the other way around!"

"Since when was that the rule, and why should it matter? It's pretty sexist if you ask me. Anyway, if I'm moving on then he should be moving on as well, right?" Summer said, giving Alice a knowing look.

Alice looked in Summer's eyes and saw her motivation, causing her to grin and roll her eyes. "Go ahead," she chuckled.

Summer giggled at her friend, the corners of her mouth curving into a grin, her eyes crinkling along with her. Alice watched her friend grinning and felt slightly jealous of how beautiful her smile was. She wished she had a smile like hers that made all the guys fall for her, hence the many dates Summer has had over time.

Summer has dated 10 guys in her whole lifetime - beginning in second grade when her friend out of the blue asked her to be his girlfriend, and her saying yes. Therefore, the girls see Summer as desperate, but she simply just keeps falling for the wrong guys - the players - and it just so happens that they all fall for her smile and agree on a date.

The good thing about having dated so many guys, though, is that she has learnt a lot about relationships, which means she doesn't care what people think when she asks a guy out instead of vice-versa. She is simply just a kind, independent person - not desperate for male attention.

Summer stood up and wandered over to Ryan's table, everyone on his table silencing as she came closer.

"Hi Summer," one of his friends grinned, a light shade of red dawning on his cheeks.

"Hey. Can I sit?" Summer beamed as the guys shuffled over to make space for her so she could sit.

"Thanks," Summer said, sitting. "What were you guys talking about? Something secretive, I'm guessing, by the way you guys totally silenced once I came over"

"Actually, we were talking about Ryan's ex, Alaska," one of the guys muttered, looking over at Ryan who was glancing down awkwardly.

"Oh yeah. Sorry about that breakup, Ryan," Summer looked over to him, giving him a sympathetic look.

"Yeah, so I guess he's single now" one of his friends said, smiling at Ryan.

"True, mate, but I'm just not ready to date yet" Ryan stated, making Summer's grin fade for a second before a crooked smile appeared across her face.

"So you're not up for dating me?" Summer asked. Ryan looked at her, his eyebrows risen, trying to figure out if she was asking him out or just playing.

"Is that a serious question?" he asked, giving up on being confused with girls. His girlfriend confused him enough and that was the main reason he lost her.

"Well, yeah, I guess. I'm expecting an answer, not another question!" Summer giggled.

Ryan chuckled along with her and the others, though his eyebrow shot up. She knows I just broke up with my girlfriend, Ryan thought. Why would she already be asking me out?

"Sorry, Summer, I would love to go out with you but I am still getting over the breakup. It's bad timing, really" Ryan said, causing Summer's heart to drop. Though, as Ryan shot her a crooked smile, her heart fluttered a little; because that was the smile that she liked so much about him.

"It's fine," Summer responded, fidgeting with her nails a little. Movement swirled around them, signalling the end of break.

"Well, we better get to class now," Ryan announced, heaving his bag on his shoulders. "Sorry again, Summer. You're a beautiful person but it's just bad timing"

"It's fine," she replied as Ryan pulled her into a hug. She responded to the hug and then pulled away, waving to him and heading to her next class with a frown smeared on her face.

Summer pressed a button on the car keys and a click sounded, signalled the car locking. She threw the keys in the air, catching them in her hand again and walked to the front door. Unlocking it, she walked inside.

"Summer?" a voice called out from a room. Summer plopped her purse and keys on the kitchen bench and went to the bathroom, where her husband, Ollie, was helping to install their new bathroom.

7 years prior, on the afternoon of getting her heart broken, her friend Ollie asked her out on a date. After she accepted his request of a date, they soon fell deep in love. Now newlyweds, the two of them were renovating their brand new house they bought to make a living together.

"You're doing great," Summer grinned at Ollie, who was on the floor fixing the tiles.

Looking at her husband, a feeling of nostalgia came across her. Thoughts went back to the day Ollie asked her out, and she thought that if Ryan had accepted her request of going out together 7 years ago, she may not have now been married to Ollie, who she knows is the One.

All the guys, the dates and the heartbreaks Summer had experienced over time had all payed back, giving her experience of how to fall in love properly. Which she did.

Ollie looked up at her wife and gave her a warm smile, the smile that Summer had fallen for. Although she had reacted the same way to every guy she'd had feelings for when they smiled at her, this time the flutters in her heart were real.

She knew she had finally found the one to fill in her

Blank Space.

I'm sorry this one may seem a bit weird and irrelevant to the song, but I was making the message say that in the end, after dealing with so many heartbreaks, she found the one. I hope you liked this story and keep suggesting songs for me to use ! Sorry again for this chapter taking 13546856422 years to be published. I'm a busy person :p
