We'll Leave No Heart Unbroken

Kenny didn't remember passing out, much less getting to his room, but here we are. He sat up slowly, his vision hazing over for a split second, and kicked his legs over the bed. It was only then whem he realized he wasn't alone in the room anymore.
"Craig..?" His eyes were still adjusting to the darkness, save for the lamp beside Craig's bed he had turned on.
"Finally awake, huh?" Craig appeared startled before speaking as his hands tensed on the book he was holding. Probably doing late night homework as per usual, Kenny mused. He leaned to the side, peaking out the curtains above the desk that seperated them, seeing that it was also dark outside.
"How long was I out?" He stretched out and flopped back onto his bed, then brought his hands up to rub the sleep away from his eyes.
"Who knows, really" Craig shrugged, setting his book down and turned to face him, "I got back here after the classes were over and you were already passed out."
Kenny paused to think, but just shrugged it off by throwing his hands in the air, letting them flop back down, and decided to move on from it. Little day nap couldn't hurt. That's when he felt Craig's eyes on him. He's been doing that a lot lately, Kenny realized. So, he sat up and eyed Craig, who got startled when Kenny stared back. It was the subtle type startle Craig always did, where his eyes got wider and his shoulders stiffened for a solid split second before going mostly back to normal. Kenny stretched again, shivering slightly, before redirecting his attention to the raven-haired edgelord.
"Alright, spill it"
"Spill what?" Craig flinched.
"What you were gonna say earlier, which I can only assume is why you keep staring- and I know you do it, don't give me that look" Kenny cut the other boy off before he even had a chance to speak.
Y'see, Kenny was the observer type. He knew the most subtle of things about his friends, especially Craig now that they've grown a little closer. Craig always had that look he would give when he felt the need to go on the defensive. His eyebrows would furrow, and his eyes would get a little squinty. Kenny thought it was funny usually, but now wasn't the time to think of that. Craig huffed out a sigh, rolling his eyes, and finally, finally explained..
"Ughh fine.. Look, Kenny.." He started. Now it was Kenny's turn to furrow his brows.. Craig looked.. flustered? "Don't give me that look, this isn't easy ok!?" The boy crossed his arms defensively. Now Kenny was definitely confused. 'What is going on?'
"I know this is gonna sound weird, but.. I've been kinda.. watching you? N-not in a creepy way, don't get me wrong! I just.. I don't know what I've been feeling lately.." Kenny's brows slowly lifted. Oh.. oh no.
"Fuck, this hard to explain.. Everytime I see you, or I'm around you I feel.. sick, almost?? Not a bad kind of sick, I don't really know how to phrase it, just.. something about you makes me feel.. twisty?" Kenny snorted at that, and Craig's face exploded in red.
"Don't fucking laugh at me, I'm over here confessing my lo-" Craig cut himself off immediately, and both sat frozen in shock. Was.. was Craig about to..? Kenny didn't know what else to do, so he panicked... and ran.

Kenny didn't realize he ran into Clyde before it was too late. Clyde looked pissed as all hell, but Kenny didn't care. He just scrambled back up, and continued running down the halls, stumbling along the way. He had haphazardly grabbed his black winter-esque jacket with fluffy trim, and ran out of the room. He looked stupid for sure, but he didn't know what else to do but run. That's what he always did whenever a problem occured, no matter how small or big the problem was. He ran. It was at this point he could feel tears pricking at his eyes and his body getting shakey. No, no, no.. I am not having a panic attack here of all places...
Kenny finally reached the building's entrance doors and practically slammed himself through them, stumbling to the ground, effectively scraping his hands and knees on the hard concrete walkway before him. He collapsed into a quiet sob, chest heaving, so he clutched at his shirt in unyielding agony. God, he was so fucking stupid, how had he not seen that coming? Craig was not the subtle type as much as he claimed to be.. maybe he was blinded by his own confusing emotions to see it, but still. And to run as far away from Craig as possible after he spilled his feelings? Stupid, stupid, stupid. He slammed his fist on the ground where the stupid teardrops had started to form a puddle.
That's when he heard someone shove through the doors behind him and immediately wrapped their arms around him. He thrashed around for a moment, still in his panicked state, and the arms got tighter. He clawed desperately at the hands to free him, but the grasp only got tighter which made him wince and whimper.
"Kenny, please. I'm sorry for causing this..." The voice was desperate, and pretty out of breath. Probably chased after him..
Craig...
Kenny's body went limp and the tears fell seemingly harder, head hanging low. He gripped at the hands holding onto him, yanking himself free, and practically threw his body into Craig's in an intense embrace. He gripped at the raven boy's shoulder blades, incoherently muttering and mumbling apologies of nothing and everything. Craig wrapped his arms around Kenny again and let his face fall into Kenny's hair, rubbing his hand up and down his back in a silent acceptance.

Craig understood why Kenny ran. He really did. He just didn't know exactly how to process it at first. He felt hurt for a moment, before shoving that down and replacing it with determination. He chased after Kenny, but scrambled to hide when he saw Kenny run into Clyde. Craig silently glared at the jock as a warning, even though he couldn't see him. Kenny didn't seem phased in the slightest though and kept running. Craig bolted after him when Clyde disappeared and found him a moment later, sobbing outside. He ran and embraced him, taking Kenny's beating when he held him before swallowing and speaking,
"Kenny, please. I'm sorry for causing this..." He was out of breath at this point and practically pleaded for Kenny to stop fighting him. That's when he heard Kenny's whispered voice call out his name. His heart skipped a beat at that and his face flushed for a second, taking enough time to process it for Kenny to break out of his hold and come right back into it. The blonde's apologies fell on deaf ears.
He didn't care if he ran. He didn't care if hit him, screamed at him, nothing. He rubbed at Kenny's back and practically shoved his face into his hair, softly kissing his head. It smelled nice, kinda misty and the softness was comforting. He sat there, holding Kenny for as long as need be, and he'd be there whenever the other needed him. He wanted Kenny to realize that...

"I love you.."
