I'd set Piper down in her crib for her nap, before walking into the empty living room.

"J?" I tried to keep my voice down as I searched for Jensen. I'd checked around on the main floor and I knew she wasn't upstairs because I'd just been there to put Piper down. I walked down the basement steps, finding Jensen in the recording studio. Her back was to me, her long, dark hair reaching the beginning of her sweatpants. She strummed a few chords on the guitar, stopping to write down lyrics here and there.

I leaned my shoulder against the doorway, crossing my arms with a smile on my face. I was hoping she'd utilize this space sooner rather than later. I listened to the lyrics she was playing around with, loving the sweet sound of her raspy voice.

"You didn't save me, you didn't think I needed saving. "You didn't change me, you didn't think I needed changing," When she stopped, I knew she was stuck. She tapped her pencil on the notebook in front of her.

"My wings are frayed and what's left of my halo's black. Lucky for me, your kind of heaven's been to, Hell and back, to Hell and back," She turned as I sang the words, her eyes lit up as she nodded, writing down the words.

"You found me huh?" I nodded, walking in to sit beside her.

"Getting better with the guitar I see." I said, watching her smirk at me as she strummed a few more chords, humming lightly.

"It's taken me awhile but I think I am finally getting the hang of it." She shrugged as she placed the guitar down, rubbing her tired eyes, "Did she go down okay?"

"Oh yeah, she's quiet the sleeper, just like her mum." She narrowed her eyes at this comment before ultimately agreeing. She laid her head on my shoulder, sighing softly, "She's got your attitude too."

"Can not argue with that one, she's definitely got my temper. She'll be a fighter for sure." I laughed at this, kissing the top of Jensen's head, "Can I ask you something?" She lifted her head, looking at me with a serious face.

"Always." I answered, unsure just what she was going to say in this moment.

"Would you be upset if I went back to working at the bar a few nights a week? Not now, obviously but in a month or two? At least until you write another hit album and we're back on the road with a munchkin this time." She looked nervous asking me this, biting the inside of her cheek after she did.

"I wouldn't expect anything less from you J." She gave me a genuine smile before wrapping me in a hug, "Are you still going to work on your music?" She pulled back, nodding.

"Of course. You did all this just for me. I wouldn't just give it up. I'm excited about writing, if you couldn't tell." She gestured to the open notebook with a million scribbles all over it. I picked it up, looking at all of the full pages with a shocked expression.

"When did you write all of this?" The whole notebook was full, not a blank page in sight.

"Oh please, don't act so shocked. After writing with Mitch, I found my brain searching for music in everything so I wrote it all down. Some of it is single lines but I think I have some good ones in there." She brushed off her hard work just as she always did. I tried to read a few of the lyrics but she snatched the notebook from my hands, shaking her head, "Nope, don't even think about it. I might need some help with some stuff but I want the end result to surprise you."

"You're always surprising me, love." She smirked at that statement, knowing it was true.

"What do you want to do for your birthday? It's in a couple of weeks and I want to do something special." I shrugged, not really caring too much about my birthday. My family never really had big birthday bashes.

"I just want to spend the day with my two favorite girls." I leaned in, trying to kiss Jensen's lips but catching the notebook she abruptly put between the two of us. I gave her a confused look as she shook her head.

"Yeah, that's not going to do.....but I'll think of something." I sighed before she placed her lips on mine. The kiss was slow and deep, one we hadn't shared since before the pregnancy. Our lips were frantic as Jensen climbed into my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck, pulling at the baby hairs.

I tried to lift her t-shirt over her head but she stopped me, shaking her head. I furrowed my eyebrows together, unsure why she was being so shy all of a sudden.

"I've still got the baby weight and you don't need to see that." She tried to climb out of my lap but my hands held her firmly in place.

"Jensen Rose Ames, I have told you once and I'll tell you a million times if I have to, you are the most beautiful and sexy woman I've ever seen. I will think that no matter what happens. I'll still think that if you weigh twice this size, I'll still think that if you have gray hair and wrinkles, I'll still think that if you decide to cover your body head to toe in tattoos. You're stuck with me love, forever. I'll never stop showing you how much I love you, no matter what you look like." She rolled her eyes at my sweet words, getting back to where we started when we both heard Piper wailing.

"Well, that was fun while it lasted. You're too sweet, my love," She climbed out of my lap sighing, "We'll continue this later?" I nodded, getting up to follow her. I gave her a cheeky smirk as I chased her up the stairs, smacking her bum lightly with each step and earning a few snorts as Jensen was practically doubled over in laughter when we reached the top.
