It had been 3 months since gabby's accident.

After a lot of therapy gabby was getting stronger every day

She still had a hard time believing that the people at Heartland accepted her for who she is.

She was surprised that they hadn't just ditched her when she was not useful to them anymore.

She wondered if true family was not based on whether or not somebody was useful to you and rather based on who you loved and cared about.

After a long and tiring therapy session Gabby wanted nothing more then to go home and take a nap.

Even though Gabby was determined to walk again it didn't mean she enjoyed therapy.

It was exhausting and sometimes even painful.

Amy put Gabby in the truck end loaded her wheelchair.

After loading Gabby's wheelchair Amy got into the driver's seat and laughed to herself.

Gabby had already fallen asleep and they hadn't even left the parking lot yet.

When they got home Amy called Ty to help her get Gabby up to her room.

Ty carried Gabby up to her room and the Layed her gently on the bed.

A few hours later Amy was upstairs to wake up Gabby for dinner.

Amy sat on the edge of the bed and gently rubbed Gabby's bat to wake her up.

What Gabby asked groggy.

Dinner's ready sweetheart Amy said.

Dinner what time is it Gabby asked sitting up and rubbing her eyes.

5:30 Amy said.

What why the heck did you let me sleep that long gabby asked .

You needed it honey Amy said.

That's very true gabby admitted.

Come on let's go eat dinner Amy said.

She carried gabby downstairs.

I still think we need an elevator Ty said.

Elevators aren't sheep Amy said .

I know but maybe if I turn tall and some extra clients Ty said

Don't even go there Amy said putting Gabby into her wheelchair.

Why not Ty asked..

Because I don't want you to work yourself into the ground

Yeah you know you don't have to do that who knows how much longer I'll be here gabby said

Yeah I'm sure you'll be back with your dad soon enough Amy said.

God I hope not gabby said.

So what do you want Ty asked.

Well I don't really know the specifics but I do know that I don't want to go back with him gabby said.

Oh why Ty asked..

There are not words to describe how much scum that man is gabby said.

I'm sure he's not that bad Amy said.

You have way too much faith in humanity gabby said.

Ty laughed.

But then why do you think you won't be here for much longer Amy asked .

You'll eventually get sick of me gabby said.

Amy kneeled down in front of gabby.

Gabby sweetheart look at at me Amy said gently lifting Gabby's head to meet her eyes.

We are Never going to get of you you know why Amy asked.

No why Gabby asked.

Because you are part of this family Amy said.

I am gabby said smiling slightly.

Yes you are Ty said smiling .

Come on guys I'm hungry Lyndy yelled.

We'll be right there Ty yelled back.

Okay let's go eat Amy said .
