Any other day you would have been fine with your mother canceling, but day? Hell no.Now you're on set with your two year old daughter, trying to figure out what you were supposed to do. Everyone else was busy or back home.
"Crap" your shouted. Quickly looking over to your left to see if (d/n) heard you.
She was sitting in the floor with her blocks smashing them into one another, off in her own little world. Not caring about what you were talking about. Thank goodness.
You currently sat in the hair and makeup trailer getting ready for your first sene of the day. Which was with Cody, and Spraybarry at the hospital. The two were on set now finishing up another sene before your characters arrival.
"What's the matter with you, Sugar" Ciara, one of the shows hair dressers, asked you. You and her grow close do to your love of animals. She grew up in El Paso, Texas. She has a few horses and ponies, offering you to visit with (D/n) so she could meet them. Ever since then she's been one of your dearest friends.
"Do you think you can handle (D/n) staying here for a little while? My mom said she can't make it, and no else can watch her" you asked, hoping she'd say yes. At this point it was the only option left.
"Of course she can. I'll drop her off to you once you finish filming" she smiled at you throw the mirror.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you" you chanted.
"No problems. Now get on set your all ready" she jokingly ordered you.
You gave (D/n) a kiss on the forehead, telling her to be good for Ciara, before rushing out the door.

"Mommy!" You heard (D/n) yell. She run over to you tackling you in a hug.
"Hi, Sweetie. How'd you like hanging out with Ciara?" You questioned, sometimes her would throw a fit when she didn't get to what she wanted. Which most of the time was to see you.
"Yeah" she said in a little voice, noticing all the people around. Her eyes focused on the ground, afraid of others eyes on her. Though she had a big personality, she was a shy little thing.
"Hey, munchkin" Cody greeted, kneeling down to her level.
"Coco!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms around him the best she could.
"I missed you" he said, hugging her back.
She pulled away smiling at him. Out of everyone in the cast Cody was her favorite. She had him wrapped around her little finger. Often she convince him to dance with her, or walk around with her. He never seemed to be able to say "no" to her.
"Booboo" she point to the fake injury on his face. She lean over and kissed it saying "All better!"
"Thank you! It really hurt" he played along.
"Yay! Mommy I fix it" she exclaimed. A big smile on her face.
"That's awesome" you grinned.
"I hate to break this little moment, but I can't watch her anymore. My shift over with, I gotta home" Ciara said, apologetically. You could tell she felt guilty for leaving, but it wasn't her job to watch (D/n) all day.
"It's okay. I'll see what I can do. Head home" you reassured her. She gave you one last smile before heading out.
"What's going on?" Cody asked.
"Oh, my mom had to cancel, so luckily Ciara was watching her. Now I need to see if I can got off work early" you groaned at the last part. You were already behind schedule. So the possibility of you being able to leave for the rest of the day was unlikely.
"I can watch her for a little bit. I don't have anymore scenes until later tonight. Besides I love hanging out with my little buddy" he said.
"I don't want you to fe-"
"Please, Mommy" (D/n) begged, side hugging Cody.
"Yeah, please" both of them gave you the puppy dog eyes, with a big pout.
"Okay" you broke.
"Yay! Let's go for a walk!" (D/n) "pulling" Cody with her.
He sent you a quick wink, following her.
"You know, you should just ask him out" Shelly said out of nowhere. Causing you to jump at her sudden voice.
"No, that is a terrible idea" you scoffed. Did you like Cody? Hell yeah. He's handsome, sweet, and an intelligent person. But asking him out would complicate things.
"Why?" She challenge.
"Because he's too close to (D/n). Asking him out now is like asking him to be a father figure to her-"
"You mean the little girl he just begged to spend time with? He love her to places, and he's practically a father figure now. She calls everyone else Auntie or Uncle, except him. Why do you think that is?" she countered.
"I just don't want to get hurt again. She lost her father before she was even born, all because he wasn't ready. What if Cody thinks he is, but later on realizes he isn't and leaves. She'd be broken-hearted" The day you found out your were pregnant was the best and worst day of your life. It was the best because of (D/n) and the worst, because that's the day her father left. Thankfully your family was there. If it wasn't for them who knows where you'd be now.
"He would never do that to her or you. Even if you broke-up he wouldn't want to be out of her life. Sometimes you have to take chances, (n/n)" she murmured. Softly rubbing your shoulder.
"What if I get hurt?"
"What if you don't?"

After finishing up work Spraybarry informed you Cody had taken (D/n) for a hike in the woods, after she insisted on spotting a reindeer. Of course it being the first week of December, she thought it would be easy.
Know that Cody would keep her on the path way, it was easy to find them. You notice how he was now wearing a jacket and beanie, and hold on to (d/n) unicorn kid leash.
Both were crunching behind a log, looking at one area were there was nothing.
"What are you two doing?" You laughed.
"I heard a reindeer. Shh~" (D/n) commanded. Never looking away from the area.
"You have to whisper" Cody claimed, patting spot next to him. She was a good foot away from him, so there was room.
"Sorry she dragged you out here" you whispered/apologized. Fighting a giggle at the intense look on your daughters face.
She really was determined to see a reindeer. You knew it was going to be a pain to get her out of here. Most likely blame you for never getting the chance to see one.
"Nah, it's fine. I figure we'd take a walk anyways" he sniggered.
"I, Umm, wanted to ask you something" you bit you lip. Nervous as to what he'd say or think.
"Go ahead" he encouraged.
"I-I was w-wondering if you'd go out with m-me?" You stuttered, groaning after realizing what you did. Not the best way to ask someone out.
"I love to" he said.
"Wait really?" You bewildered.
"Yeah, I wanted to ask you out a while ago, but I figured you'd say "no" with how busy you are" he explained." So? Saturday, 7:00pm?" He asked.
"Yeah, that works for me" you smiled.
He wrapped an arm around you pulling you closer to him. Watching the determination on your daughters face. Silently laughing at how silly she was being.
Maybe this could work out after all.
