Edgar was chopping up raw beef, preparing to pop it into the pan. The smell of cooked eggs filled the room. Charlie was sitting beside Jack, watching over him. Selena had left recently to hunt for an empty can. Edgar slid the chopped beef into the pan, and it started to sizzle instantly. Edgar watched it as it cooked, and Charlie sighed. It had been several weeks, almost the end of January, and Jack still hadn't woke up. The group had been waiting for a while, only trying to survive without Jack. They still could focus upon the work at hand, defend against Sniper Man's army. "We're not ready." It was Charlie who spoke up. "I know that.. We need Jack. Without him, we're left to die.." The group sighed, looking down. Charlie had taken command of the group ever since the incident, but he really relied on Edgar to make the large plays. "Edgar, go find Selena. We're setting out tomorrow."
Jack was thrown over Charlie's shoulder as they left the city. Edgar held his assault rifle high, in order to eliminate any threat. They had been walking for an hour straight, when noises erupted from the bush. "Hands up. Drop the rifle, and drop the machete." The voice was male, and three men stepped out. One was holding a broadsword. The other two held combat knifes and Colt 45's in a tactical position, with the group surrounded. Charlie slowly put down Jack, and low kicked the one with the sword. He fell, dropping the sword, knocking down one if the other men. The last one aimed at Charlie. "Names." Edgar put the rifle to the last standing man's head, and Selena grabbed the other toe, sheathing the machete.
