Runaway Rogues

Chapter Four: The Maze

They started to run in ways they thought they have gone before. It took forever, but they finally got out of the maze or... they thought they did. What they stood in was the castles HUGE hedge maze.

"The maze is enchanted nothing can destroy it and nothing or no one can use magic while in the maze or they will most likely die. Looks like we might have to get out of here by foot." Aedan groaned. They started to run all over the maze. When they stopped to organize a plan it didn't exactly work right...

"All right so first well'l go-wait wheres Francesco?" Riley asked.

"Your right....FRANCHESCO! FRANCHESCO!" Aedan yelled.

"I'M OVER HERE!" he yelled back. Suddenly the leaves of the maze made a path so that franchesco could get through.

"Wait...THIS IS FORBIDDEN MAGIC! EVEN I DON'T USE IT!" Aedan nervously and quietly said.

"What do you mean? And why are you whispering?" Riley asked.

"This...is living magic. It can turn anything into a man eating monster. I wont go into details but basically if it caches you...your screwed." Aedan replied.

"That doesn't sound too pleasing." Francesco said.

"It isn't, so be careful." Aedan said.

"Says the person that blew up his jail cell and made a rock monster." said Tyler. "It was your idea, so its your fault.".

They started to walk the ways that seemed like were going into the forest, so they could be safe. After a while the floor changed to a grassy brick.

"This might mean that were getting closer to the forest, right guys?" Aedan said. Silence...

"Guys?". Aedan couldn't find them so he started looking for them since he couldn't scream. He found a path that lead to a HUGE strange aquamarine colored floor.

"Strange..." he said. He took a step forward and the path behind him closed Then the whole section turned to water that was 1 mile deep and Aedan fell in trying to swim to a tiny peice of land that he saw. Then there was a ripple in the water. Aedan felt something rub against his foot in the ice cold water.

"...No." Aedan said "No no nononononononononononononononononnoonnono.". Something grabbed his foot and pulled him underwater

"HEL-"Drowning noises*" Aedan attempted to say as the creature pulled him underwater. He struggled to get out of the creatures grip but failed. Then he finally got a good look at the creature. It had long black hair, white eyes, and pale skin. He saw a green glimmer under him, using all his strength he managed to kick the strange beast and swim towards it, He read about what he saw. It was a beacon that would shoot a green beam in the sky as long as someone is touching it. The beast behind him is swiming so fast he might not make it. but he's still determend to touch the gem. Right before the demon could grap him he got a grip of the gem. It sent a powerful bright beam into the sky, the creature swam away from the intence light, but Aedan was stuck...left to drown as the water pushed him into the dark black depths.

-Aedans POV

So i guess this is it...The first Runaway Rouge to die....to be honest i never thought that I would die by drowning...ha.....well...i tried my best Riley...Francesco...Tyler....I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer...goodbye...

-Normal POV

Before he could finish his sentence a shadowy figure started to swim to him. As the figure got closer he realized it was Riley...She saw the beam. Riley took Aedan up and out of the water using a spell that she got which it was a levitation spell. When Riley got to the top and to shore the water turned back to normal and Aedan asked"Thanks...But how are you not dead...You used a spell."

"It was given to me by the maze...I found it in a chest." She replied.

"Oh..." Aedan pretended to say, not confused. Just as they were about to walk away a chest appeared behind them. They looked behind them and Riley said

"Hey that looks like the chest that gave me the spell." She said as they walked to it. Aedan looked at it and paused.

"Well go on...open it." Riley said as she shoved him closer. Aedan took a minute until he finally opened it. There was a golden card floating with a strange blue marking on it.

"What is that?" Riley asked as she gazed at the beautiful glowing card. Aedan's eyes widened and he gasped

"THAT'S A MAGIC CARD! AND NOT JUST ANY, A GOD'S MAGIC CARD!" Aedan Screamed of amazment. Riley covered his mouth because the hedge maze started to move. When they were about to leave Aedan tripped and fell over something.

Riley turned and said "Come on Aedan this is no time to be-" Right when she was about to finish her sentence she saw Aedan being pulled by one of the vines from the maze. Riley ran towards him and grabbed his hand. But since she was so focused on saving Aedan she didn't notice the vine behind her as it grabbed her foot.

"AEDAN!" Riley screamed as the vines covered her body. Aedan and Riley were being pulled in the bushes as they struggled. In under 1 minute Aedan and Riley's feet and hands were completely submerged into the bushes. They couldn't breath as the bushes held their mouths shut. Aedan tried to reach for his card but it was just out of his reach. Their vision was going blurry and they both shut their eyes as the weeds were pulling them in. In a few more seconds they were fully in the bushes.
