Agent 3's (Sarah's) P.O.V:

It was a couple days after my birthday, and it seems like Mike's back to normal. He's being as clingy, loving and funny as Mike was before. Occasionally coming up behind me and surprising me with a hug from behind. Mike was laughing and smiling a lot more compared to the days where he was gloomy.

It made me feel happy, seeing the person I love the most acting natural again.

The both of us were cuddling in Mike's room, which was what you would expect from an octoling's, well mainly an inkling boy's, room. He had a couple of posters of different shows and video games around his room, his tv and gaming console, his bed and drawer where he kept his clothes. It's all normal, besides a picture frame and a stuffed green squid on his bed, which was a small gift to remind him of me when I'm not there. The picture frame, however, was something Mike had bought and set up on his own. It was a silver heart frame, with a polaroid picture of us smiling after winning a hard game of Tower Control. We look so happy, and I'm glad that we still are.

"Hey, babe? I'm bored, can we invite Jake and Isabel over?" I asked innocently, staring into his eyes that looked over at me away from his phone. Mike smiled softly and nodded. "Sounds like a great idea." He responded. After hearing his response, I jumped out of bed excitedly and ended up calling the pair almost immediately. Luckily, the both of them were free this afternoon, so we were able to hang out.

Mike opened the door once Jake (Agent 7) and Isabel (Agent 4) arrived. They both had come over multiple times before, so our house was nothing new to them. "Hey Sarah!" Isabel exclaimed, giving me a friendly hug. "Hey Mike!" She simply smiled at him. Jake greeted us as well, grasping Isabel's hand in the process.

Everyone sat down in the living room and talked while I went over to the kitchen to serve a bowl of chips.

Agent 8's (Mike's) P.O.V:

"Isabel and I were playing a ranked match earlier today and with my blaster I.." Jake went on telling me a story that caught my attention. I was laughing along with the funny bits and smiling as I focused on them talking. I wasn't acting or pretending, I was genuinely enjoying having this conversation with them. After all, they are my comrades, well best friends actually.

After a couple of minutes of talking, Sarah joined us, setting down a bowl of snacks and plopping herself right next to me and holding my hand immediately. My smile only widened with the loving gesture as I held her hand tightly.

"Hey! I bought this game awhile back and I've been wanting to play with just the four of us for a long time now! Can we try it?" Isabel beamed, taking out a small rectangular box from her bag. "What is it?" Sarah and Jake asked curiously, as did I.

"Well, it's like truth or dare, but it's just cards with random truths."

"Sounds fun!" Sarah giggled, blushing slightly.

"Y-Yea.." Jake grinned nervously.

"Sure." I shrugged, not knowing how this was going to plan out.

Isabel opened the rectangular black box and pulled out a deck of cards, who's back art is similar to that of playing cards, however there were no numbers or kings/queens or spades or hearts. Isabel shuffled them with ease and placed them on the table and went on to explain the rules. They were rather simple actually:

1. Pick up a card from the deck when it's your turn.

2. Read it out loud so that everyone else can hear.

3. Be 100% honest about the question. If someone knows you're lying for sure, they can call you out.

A simple, yet controversial game that can certainly make best friends question each other.

No One's P.O.V:

Sarah:
"Who was an old crush of yours?"
"A couple of years back, I actually crushed on Jake..." Sarah stated, clearly embarrassed.

Isabel:
"Ever done anything heated with your partner before?"
"...maybe." Isabel muttered, avoiding eye contact with anyone in the room. Jake also scratching the back of his head nervously.

Jake:
"Cats or dogs?"
"..cats."
Believe it or not, this one was the most controversial one and caused an argument in the room.

Agent 3's (Sarah's) P.O.V:

All four of us were laughing hard from the argument about cats or dogs, mainly how the actual embarrassing ones were less discussed than this simple one. After everyone calmed down, it was Mike's turn. I peered over at him curiously as his hand went in to pick a card.

"Something from your past that you deeply regret?"

I looked around the room, both curious and worried. Isabel and Jake were staring at Mike, their eyes full of wonder and waiting for a response. Mike was staring at the card intensely, his facial expression stiffening and frowning. I noticed that he swallowed the saliva building up in his mouth and let out a sigh. It was clear that he was thinking deeply about something, reminiscing about something in the past, but not saying anything. His only response was:

"...nothing."

Mike said it in a cold tone, one that made it obvious to anyone who had a brain that there was something bothering him. But just as quickly, a bright smile reappeared on the octoling's face.

"Let's continue, shall we?" He chuckled, clearing his throat before.

We went on with playing our game, Isabel and Jake acting like nothing had just happened, yet Mike seemed to appreciate that they were acting like that. I would laugh and smile too though it wasn't as energetic.

I couldn't help but stare at my beloved octoling and wonder if he's actually okay.
