Magnus' POV

When Alexander's face lights up again with another laugh, I decide I really should ask this man out. His beautiful alabaster skin shows off his blush perfectly. His black hair is an unruly mess of curls that I'm dying to run my hands through...to maybe tug on them a bit. Have Alexander's head be thrown back not in laughter but in ecstasy. Find out just how smooth that alabaster skin is...I bet it's as smooth as it looks, and as delicious.

I try to shake my horny thoughts and focus on the story that I'm telling. My mind sometimes splits into two as my mouth does one thing and my brain does another.

Why does that sound like a dirty joke?

What is up with me? Yes, the man is like a Greek god with sharp cheekbones, strong jawline and rippling muscles that can be seen through his blazer...but I don't normally have this intense of a reaction to people, especially not at first.

His kindness and thoughtfulness and care only add to the Alexander Wood package deal as I remember him saving me from all the fangirls and potential paparazzi. His deep, sexy voice commanding the fangirls to stop. Then as we ran, he never took his hand off my waist, always making sure I was keeping up. He kept my balance more than a few times. I can still feel the imprint of warmth his hand left on my back. He knew the back alleyways almost uncomfortably well. Then giving money and a granola bar to the homeless man. My heart swelled with pride that I know such as kind and generous man while simultaneously felt pain as I begin to piece together possibilities as to why Alec may know the streets so well, be so familiar with the homeless and wear such inexpensive, plain clothing.

"Magnus, hey!"

His sweet voice penetrates my swirling thoughts.

Ah that deep voice is sweet and sexy all at the same time.

"Sorry, I kind of got lost in my thoughts in the middle of my story," I laugh to try to play it off. Nice going, now he's going to think you're a ditzy fashionista.

"Oh, it's okay, that happens to me too sometimes," he offers with a shy smile. He adds after a pause, "it happens to my sister all the time too, except she doesn't get lost in her thoughts, she just tells her story with all those random extra thoughts thrown in. Makes for a hell of a conversation."

His wry smile is so genuine and so full of love, I want to capture it forever.

"Hey, how is everything going over here?" Simon slides into our conversation to ask.

Alexander looks to me clearly stating that he wants me to answer the question first and take the lead.

I smile up at Simon as an idea pops into my head. "Good, but actually, could we get refills on both our drinks and can I have another bagel with cream cheese and muffin."

Simon chuckles, "You guys must be working up an appetite, but yeah for sure. What kind of muffin and bagel?"

"Um," I try to look at Alexander out of the corner of my eye as if I can read what his food preferences are by his facial expressions. When he sees me looking, he quickly looks away with that gorgeous blush on his cheeks. Oh my lord, this man will be the death of me.

"How about an everything bagel and a blueberry muffin?" I decide. Those are too crazy of options and they are kind of healthy.

"Sure thing," Simon says easily as he gathers up our mugs and my plate.

"Is it alright if I pay for everything after we're done?" I ask. I don't want to get up from the table. I'm afraid that when we do, this spell will be broken and Alexander will remember his obligations and go back to being the formal lawyer persona.
