Allyson Soriano

I woke up while inducing a painful headache.

I didn't know what happened.

But as I encircled my vision as to where I was, it wasn't my room.

I was at a hospital private room. From the window, it was already morning outside and in the worst case scenario, I felt some devices sticking up on my whole body.

And this time, it wasn't him that I greeted me but a doctor on a white lab gown.

"Do you have a guardian, Ms. Soriano?" he asked and no was all I could utter while laying down on that hospital bed, feeling pain all over my body.

The doctor told me to rest and that he'll explain everything when I'm in good shape but then, I can't help but to fill up my mind with endless questions.

What happened that night? Why am U here? Where is Nox? What happened to him?

A day had passed, with no sign of Nox. I don't feel any emotions nor senses that wasn't mine since then. I wondered if he's still controlling his feelings or.. No.

I don't want to think about it.

Still wearing a lab gown, I sat at my hospital bed and looked at the huge glass of window, making outside be perfectly clear from here.

It was sunny. Trees were swaying with the wind. And the sky.. it's too bright.

"Ms. Soriano?" a doctor came in, who's obviously doing his rounds.

I greeted as he stood in front of me with his papers and I waited for him to tell me what happened.

"A staff on your hotel brought you here since you passed out at your condo, she said. So we went in few tests and it was only due to fatigue." A staff. And it was a woman.

"You should just rest to completely regain your strength."

I looked at him and without thinking twice, I asked, "Did a man went here?" And to my disappoint, he said no.

It was silent for a moment until he spoke again.

"May I ask a few questions?" I slowly nodded.

"That man you've mentioned. Do you live with him?" I can't help but to be confused about it.. but eventually, I chose to answer.

"Yes." He sighed as if something he suspected was right.

What is going on?

"Aside from fatigue, Ms. Soriano.. we also run few tests on your psychological health."

"You have an unusual mental calculations."

I don't know how to react and for some reason, I don't wanna hear anything else.

I felt afraid.

"I heard you live alone." he started off again. No, I don't live alone.

Nox is with me.

"That man.. I don't know anything else but I suspect that he's only a product of your imagination. It was caused by pure depression and...."

I couldn't hear anything else, nor see.

I felt my hearing and vision starting to get blurry and before I knew it, I felt tears slowly streaming down my face.

Depression. Product of imagination. And Nox.. he isn't real.

I passed out again but this time, I wasn't with him when I did.

In a sleep of almost a day, I dreamt.

"Be back by sunrise." a man on his 40's uttered to a young lady at her early 20's. She was wearing a knee-length white dress that matched her skin. She had wavy, brown hair.

And as she smiled, pureness filles her face.

"Yes papa." gracefully, she said as she walked outside a huge mansion.

The moment she reached outside, an endless grassy field greeted her with the wind.

She took off her heels and barefooted, she ran.

The dress and her hair swayed with the grass and the wind as she reached the exact place where she could fill her eyes with the sunset at the horizon.

She stopped.

It was beautiful on her eyes but other than that, sunset, to her signified something else.

Smiling, she looked from behind her and saw a man wearing a white polo shirt and slacks.

He signified sunset and moon to her. Her eyes tells everything.

The moment the sun sets, he'll come and it would lasts until the moon dominates the sky.

"Night." she called out for him.

He smiled as a response as he took few steps closer to her.

"You're dazzling, my lady." It was all it took before her heart filled with happiness and contentment.

It was all over her face.

And their eyes. It shouted the same thing.

A sorrowful love.

"May I take your hand, my lady?" he asked and raised his hand, reaching out for her.

Without doubt, she took it and together, they ran at the field happily, with the wind, grass, and sunset as their companion.

But it didn't last.

Silence broke the moment a gunshot filled the place and blood spilled.

At that grassy field, it was as if a flower was plucked out from its' stem and she fell down.

Tears streaming down her face, he touched her hands.

"Night.. It's cold." she uttered and he can't say anything but to respond with a breaking smile, sadness on his eyes. He forced it.

Minutes passed and they stayed just like that.

Until she closed her eyes and his heart broke.

"I'll find you in your next life again, my lady... Allyson."
