Ashton's POV:

We all sat crammed in the tiny car. The air felt tight, and very warm. My breath quickened, as the air kept getting tighter. The car was too small, that was clear.

Luke's hand was resting on my knee, he kept looking apologetically over at me, but honestly I didn't care, I just wanted to know if he was alright. After everything, he just kind of snapped, it was scary, and I know he needs help.

Luke looked extremely broken, earlier, as though someone told him his dog died, which I doubt he has one, but still.

I was worried, i always am though.

That was a memory and one bad one. Luke was going into a panic attack. I had to do something, right?

"We're here." Mr. Ross grumbled slamming the drivers door shut, breaking me from my thoughts about Luke.

Chad glanced back at me, momentarily. I saw pain flash in Chads Green eyes.

He turned facing his lap for a quick second, moving to get out. He struggled with the sling and his bag. I watched him walk up the front cement walk.

Calum and Luke poured out of one door. I just sat, not wanting to move. Everything, is wrong, no one should suffer, I want to take the pain away?

Luke walked around the car knocking on the glass window. I flinched, opening the door.

"Hey, are you alright?" Luke's voice was soft.

"Uh yea." I said, sending a weak smile. Luke gave me a disapproving look. "I'm just a little claustrophobic." I quickly added, attempting to help my situation.

"Can we just go?" I had a bit of a plead. Luke and Calum, sent a questioning stare, because we were going to Chad's of all people.

As we strode up the cement pathway. I could hear shouting, not being able to make out the words at first, once Calum, had pushed the door open, I saw a complete other side of our dear old principal.

"You're so fucking dumb, I hate you, why couldn't you be like your sister." Mr. Ross screamed, not taking notice to our presence. His hand came flying in the air, just stopping, when the hard, cold hand connected with Chad's cheek. A small whimper escaped his lips, as he stared at his father.

Intense fear filled eyes stared at Mr. Ross. I actually felt bad for the kid, but if he was going through this why hurt others?

Mr. Ross' eyes travelled over seeing; Calum, Luke and I. "Work on your project, would you?" The bitter tone, filled the room with a strong wave. The intensity in the air said it all.

"Let's go work, in my room." Chad said calmly, he acted as though nothing happened, like there wasn't a throbbing pain in his cheek.

As we followed, letting Chad guide us down toward the basement.

I made awkward eye contact with Luke, as the concern clear on both our faces. I gulped a deep breath.

It was black as night, in Chad's room. Gripping the closest hand near me, I grabbed. The person never reacted nor did they get mad, just held tight.

I was honestly terrified of the dark, Dad had always hurt me at night, and the fire so many years back, I usually always had a light on me.

The lights flickered on, I squeezed my eyes shut for a moment, expecting a blow, realizing nothing connected with my body, I masked my fear, readjusting my eyes to the light.

Realizing, I was holding someone's hand, I looked immediately down at the warmth. I stood, staring wide eyed, I was holding onto Luke's hand. He just looked at me. The smile, came off easily, as he looked at our joint hands.
