John Suh got over the death of his friend in 2014, during his second year of university. During that time, he'd gone to multiple parties and dated multiple girls but nothing ever felt completely right. All of his best friends from high school went in different directions but that was alright since he met Jung Jaehyun whom he'd become inseparable with.

He had finished film school and graduated as a qualified costume designer but he was also in charge of promotional photoshoots and things of similar sorts. Jaehyun on the other hand, became a successful director and scriptwriter despite only being 23 and having almost no experience in the industry. His films were just simply amazing and that's what drew everyone's attention to him and with Johnny by his side making excellent costumes for his films, they were able to make bank.

Now, in 2019, John Suh was more than ok, he was feeling fantastic.

"Johnny! I just got a call from the studio!" Jaehyun ran into the kitchen in their shared apartment with little sparks of excitement in his eyes. "The film about that girl who wanted to become a dancer, remember? The one we were working on? Well, we got our manager to contact the guy who won the best dancer and choreographer competition this year and he said yes to flying out here and being an official consultant for our film!" He exclaimed and ran up to Johnny who was already looking up the guy on his phone but got stopped by Jaehyun.

"He also said that he wants the people who don't know him to have a surprise." The younger added with a smirk, putting his friend's phone down. Johnny sighed and put the device away reluctantly, not wanting to disobey some guy's wishes, considering the fact that it was really honorable that he even agreed to help them.

"I don't know how our manager even managed to get in contact with him but it's really good that he did. It'll be useful information and he can fix any potential mistakes along the way." John commented but this was about it for him, he wasn't nearly as excited as Jaehyun, who considered this his best film yet.

Johnny had made a lot money while working with the other but a few months ago he started wondering if it's what he wanted to dedicate his life to or not. He enjoyed making costumes and working with someone he was close with was always a nice addition but he still didn't feel completely satisfied.

"Have you even been listening to me? God, Johnny, I just wanted to tell you that Mark will email us a potential soundtrack for the film but it's only guide vocals for now since he hasn't chosen the actual singers yet. He told me that his co-worker is so talented that he could easily sing all of those songs but you know how nice Mark is. He always praises the people he works with." Jaehyun shook his head as soon as he noticed Johnny still wasn't listening and walked away, seeing that his friend clearly isn't in the mood for talking or even simply paying attention.

Johnny just stood there, focused on a singular ray of light that was dancing on the floor not too far away from him. He was intensely thinking about something which he wasn't so sure about but he couldn't find the exact reason for it.

"Why am I not as excited about this film as Jaehyun is?" He asked himself as soon as he saw that the younger male is out of his vision. "It's huge for him and we got such an important person to be a consultant for it, why am I not happy?"

Johnny walked across their spacious living room all the way to the balcony, also known as his ultimate thinking space. He opened the huge glass door and walked outside to breathe some fresh air and just look at the magnificent view of Los Angeles right in front of him. He had left Chicago years ago but still missed it while looking at the tall buildings visible from his apartment windows.

He also never felt at home while he was in Los Angeles but he could never understand why though he had many ideas. The one he was considering the most was the fact that he was lonely as Jaehyun was his only friend and even he had other friends. Johnny was still convinced that the uprising director and his manager, Taeyong, were more than just business partners. They had this aura around them, Johnny could swear that something was up. All of this became kind of too difficult when he realized that he really struggled to find someone to spend his time with. College made the idea of having a girlfriend completely idiotic and he also never imagined himself with a guy. Well, there was an exception but dating someone who was dead wasn't possible anyway.
