Thea looked at the cut on her cheek

Thea looked at the cut on her cheek. She had a headband to keep her light brown hair away from her face. When she came back from Diagon Alley, her father was waiting for her with a fuming look. Apparently Theo had reported back to their father about her actions and of course she was in trouble. Thea wanted to smooth out the situation by saying she was misunderstood but Theo had already told her father about how she acted towards the house elves. That was the first time her father had taken a physical action towards her. His ring had cut her cheek when he slapped her across the face with the back of his hand. She hadn't spoken to her brother since then but she knew she had to today. Thea gently knocked her brother's door. When no sound came from the room, she opened the door and slowly walked inside.

"I'm leaving today." She said when he didn't turn around to acknowledge her presence. "You know I've just been trying to protect you all this time. You can't listen to him Theo. We're not just about our blood. It's our actions that matter. You know you can always write to me. I'll be off then..." She bit her lip not to cry and got back out.

Her trunk was ready with all her uniforms, books and necessary items in. Her new barn owl was sitting in her cage on top.

"Ready Miss Nott?" Tinky asked as Thea put on her cape.

"Yes Tinky. I don't think anyone is coming with us." She replied looking upstairs, hearing no noise.

Platform 9 3/4 was everything she had imagined. It was full of students and parents saying goodbye to each other. Thea felt a twang of sadness looking around her but shook her thoughts away as she took the trunk and cage from Tinky.

"Thank you Tinky. Can you, you know, keep an eye on Theo for me? Report to me if you see father mistreating him?" Thea asked the small house elf with pleading eyes.

"Of course Miss Nott. Tinky will keep a watchful eye. Tinky will send the pastries Miss Nott likes so much." Tinky replied taking out a tissue from her apron pocket to wipe her nose.

"Oh Tinky don't cry. You're making me emotional." Thea smiled as Tinky shook her head. She put down her trunk and gave the elf a small side hug. "Now go, I'll be fine from here." She said getting back up. Tinky nodded and vanished into thin air.

What Thea didn't know was that the whole Weasley family had seen her interaction with the house elf and Mrs. Weasley almost wanted to cry. They had never seen an interaction like that between a witch and an elf. Seeing as Thea was by herself again, one of the Weasleys decided to take matters into his own hand.

"Thea!" She heard someone calling out to her. She saw the boy she had met last week, waving frantically at her.

"Hello, Fred." She greeted him with a smile as she lugged her trunk towards them.

"You know I'm Fred?" He asked raising his eyebrows in surprise.

"Of course. Then I wouldn't have called you Fred now would I?" Thea shot back with a grin, making the older brother she had seen before let out a chuckle.
