Thea slumped on her bed after taking a shower with a loud groan.

"You guys need a break." Ronnie sighed looking at her friend. "Flint's not gonna win anything if you're all too sore to move."

"Yeah, it's Malfoy he needs to train." Emily noted with a huff.

"The bloody git is still pretending his arm is injured." Thea muttered then she cursed remembering something and jumped off her bed.

"Thea? Wha- what are you doing?"

"Prefect duty. I completely forgot." She replied as she pulled her school robe on. "It's my turn to patrol tonight. Is it too noticeable?" Thea asked motioning to her pajamas.

"Pull your skirt over your shorts. Then you'll be fine." Emily replied with a nod. Thea quickly did what her friend said and turned around to look for her wand.

"Wand, wand, wand... There you are!" She found it buried under a pile of Transfiguration books and swiftly pulled it out. "Don't wait up." She winked at her friends and quickly left the room.

"How does she have the energy to patrol the corridors right now?" Ronnie asked shaking her head. "I get tired after going to the Astronomy Tower."

"But somehow you never get tired of talking." Emily mocked her friend but exclaimed in surprise when a pillow hurdled towards her.

As the two continued bickering in their dorm room, Thea flicked her wand twice to light her path out in the dark corridors. She always hated the dark, not knowing what might come out of it. She cursed for handing the map to Fred as it would be useful during her patrols.

"What are you doing wandering the halls?" She heard Filch's voice.

She turned around to see the caretaker holding a lantern with a snarl.

"I'm not wandering, I'm patrolling." Thea rolled her eyes at the man. "I'm a Prefect, you know."

"Prefect, eh? Well, don't think I haven't got my eye on you." Filch grumbled, sad that he couldn't get Thea in trouble with the professors.

Thea chuckled hearing his incoherent mumblings got quieter as he walked away with Mrs. Norris. She made her way towards the kitchens and stopped when she heard something.

"Who's there?" Thea asked gripping her wand tightly.

She slowly walked towards the noise but found no one. Probably rats, she thought to herself.

"Aah!" Thea screamed out when something touched her and she turned around with a flick of her wand.

A loud bang emitted from her wand with a blue and yellow light. Sound of laughter came behind her as she walked towards what she had hit hard with the knockback jinx.

"That... was... amazing!" George came in her wand's light, clutching his stomach.

"What did you do that for?" Thea realized Fred was groaning on the floor and couldn't help but let out a chuckle.

"I told you not to scare her Freddie. Remember the last time you did that?" Fred subconsciously touched his nose.

"Vividly." He replied still on the floor.

Fred had scared Thea during their second year and the girl punched his nose in defense, breaking it as a result.

"Okay, come on. Get up." Thea put her hand out but Fred was still groaning. "Don't be such a drama queen Fred."

"Oh no, it's Percy." George said waving the map which made Fred shot up.

"Go, go. I'll deal with him."

"What's going on there? I'm the Head Boy." Thea heard Percy coming towards them with fast steps.

"Just me Percy." Thea greeting him.

"And who were you talking to?" Percy folded his arms and gave her a look of disbelief.

"No one. Just trying to see if I remember what I had studied earlier." She replied with a smile. "You know, keeping my mind sharp."

"So I'll find Fred and George at the dormitories if I check now?"

"Why don't you go and see for yourself?"

Percy shot her one last look before taking off. She knew they would be there before him. After a while, finishing her patrol she returned back to the Slytherin common room. She quietly walked in seeing as her friends were asleep and picked up the books beside her bed. Sitting by the fire, she opened them up and picked up her quill.

"Leaf of a mandrake, amato animo animato animagus, silver teaspoon of dew..." She muttered as she made a list.

Finally understanding what she had to do, she made a mental note to talk to Professor McGonagall before trying anything.

"Have you finally gone mad and start talking to yourself?" A voice made her put her quill down.

"First time you speak to me in months and this is what you say to me?" Thea looked up to see Theo in his pajamas, looking at her with a cold face. "Great talk, brother." She rolled her eyes when Theo didn't say anything so she gathered up her books to leave.

"You left." She heard his voice when she was about to turn the corner.

"What?" She asked bewildered.

"You left me with him!" Theo raised his voice. "Do you have any idea what that was like?"

"I didn't leave you! I came to school then you decided you hated me!" Thea dropped the books she was holding in anger.

"Do you know what I had to go through?" He asked shaking his head.

"Do you know what I had to go through? What I did to keep him away from you?" Thea had furious tears streaming down her face. "Mum told us to take care of each other. Not this." She motioned between them.

"She was stupid for believing she could associate with mudbloods and blood traitors. You were stupid for believing her."

"Theo!" She yelled in horror. Never in her life had she heard her brother talk bad about their mother before. "How dare you?! How dare you talk about her like that?"

"You know she had it coming. That's what dad says." At that moment, Thea realized she had lost her brother for they never called him dad, it seemed too affectionate for them.

"So that's how it is?" She lowered her voice, almost to a whisper.

She quickly gathered her belongings and left for her dorm before she would completely breakdown in front of him. It felt like her chest was on fire as she got under the covers and closed her curtains.

Emily and Ronnie, hearing their fight shared a look with each other. Emily wanted to say something but Ronnie shook her head. She knew Thea needed some time alone and she would come to them when she was ready to talk about it. They couldn't do anything but let her silently sob until she finally fell asleep.
