George was crying again. Only this time, Seras was out on mission with the Wild Geese. Integra was busy and so was Walter. Alucard growled in anger at the lack of proper servants in this house.

"Why must you continuously cry, when there is nothing to cry about?" wondered Alucard. Alucard picked George up by the scruff of her shirt and carried her to the music room. "Maybe some music will calm this little beastie." smirked Alucard.

The music room lay in silence like a tomb. Integra hadn't played the piano since her father died. It was a useless skill to a vampire hunter and Integra didn't waste her time on useless skills. Alucard laid George on top of the piano, but she only continued to cry. He sat down at the piano and opened the lip. Eighty-eight neglected teeth of black and white stared back at him with a fine layer of dust. Alucard hit a note. It was flat.

"You need tuning." declared Alucard.

Andyet, the sound of age, neglect, and abandonment resonated with him. Alucardthen began to play moonlight sonata. He ignored George's cries and let themusic of the night fill the empty room. George slowly began to cease hercrying and took up whimpering, as she watched Alucard play. The notes soundedfunny to her, curious and new. She crawled over to the edge of the piano towatch Alucard play. George watched as Alucard's hands masterfully glidedover the keys. George reached out to touch the keys, rolled ungracefully, and fell on her face. Thepiano thunged loudly, making an ugly burp of noise, as George landed on the keyboard.Alucard laughed, and a cold tendril of shadow lifted George from the keys, as heinspected the stains of dust on his gloves. The sentient shadow dropped George back ontop of the top of the piano.

"I joc, tu a asculta." he told her mentally. <I play, you listen.>

George lay down on the top of the piano and just listened. Twenty minutes later, she was asleep.

"I didn't know that you could play piano." said Integra, as she walked towards Alucard.

"To keep George from making that appalling noise, I'd part the waters of the river Styx." sneered Alucard, as he continued playing.

"I will send for a piano tuner in the morning." said Integra, sitting down next to him.

"No need, Master." Alucard stood, and reached out a hand to help Integra stand.

Integra stood, a skeptical look on her face. The room grew cold and George was lifted in cradled in a mass of swirling shadows. Integra blanched and grabbed the little girl from her icy squirming bed.

"You must stop doing that, Alucard." Integra scolded him, as he released one of his shadow minions. George squirmed, awakened from her nap by the sudden shift from cold to warm. "Everything is fine, George. Just moving somewhere more comfortable. Shh Shh."

The shadows congealed becoming humanoid and soon a man with wild thick hair and bleached ashen skin was there wrapped in chains of shadows.

"Tune it." Alucard instructed it.

"Which one is he?" Integra asked, as she watched the shadow minion get to work tuning the piano.

"Wolfgang." He said.

"You ate Mozart?" exclaimed Integra.

"No, this one was Johann Phillipe Wolfgang." Alucard told her. "He was a nobody. Well, I am very certain he could have been somebody, if he hadn't had the misfortune of meeting me."

"How sad." Integra commented, as she watched the shadow minion continue to work on the piano.

"It was. He could have been greater than Mozart or Bach, but he never got the chance. I suppose his desire to do good is what got him killed. He should have been more selfish."

"What do you mean? Did he come from a poor family?"

"Partially, but he hid from the spotlight. What really did it, is that he decided to volunteer in one of Europe's petty wars. He wanted to entertain the soldiers and staff, to help assist the doctors, and travel the world with the officers club."

"Not all of us are attention grabbing showoffs." Integra chuckled at Alucard.

"And yet there are some people who need to be. Opportunity knocks, but you must open the door. Not cower behind it and pretend not to be home." Alucard informed her, with a grin.

Integra just chuckled at the analogy. The shadow minion named Johann finished tuning the piano and then walked back to Alucard.

"Play something." Alucard demanded.

The shadow of Wolfgang just stood there looking shocked and then he looked shy.

"He's dead and he's still afraid." Alucard scoffed at him dismissively.

"Maybe it's your tone of voice." Joked Integra. "Johann, Please play for me. I would love to hear your play."

Wolfgang lifted his head, looked at her, and smiled. Then he bowed to her and sat down to play. Alucard made a couch appear, so that he and Integra could sit down. Integra held George in her arms, as she leaned back and listened to Wolfgang play. George was pleasantly asleep, and buried her head deeper into Integra's warm shoulder.

Integra was surprised to find Johann's piano playing was soft, slow, and gentle. It was sweet, relaxing, and soothing. High tones perfectly tuned to Solfeggio frequencies. Low tones carrying the melody along like someone slowly breathing.

"He's very good." Integra yawned, as she complimented him. Her eyes too were beginning to grow heavy.

"Yes, he was."Alucard agreed.
