Integra Hellsing rolled over, curling up into a tight ball in her bed. Her face snuggled blissfully in the pillow as she fully intended to sleep in. This was a change of pace from normally hectic morning. She took a deep breath and the rugged smells of grass and dirt and the outdoors soothing her....
WAIT! What? Her mind screamed. She cracked her eyes open and muttered, "What's that smell?"
Integra sat up and reached for her glasses. The smell only grew more potent as she shook loose dirt from her bedspread. "It smells like HYDE woods in here." With her glassed perched on her nose she braved a look. "Can't be," she said. "Not possible." She wiped her glasses off and then put them back on to look again. Then Integra picked it up, held it up for closer inspection, and then... she screamed.
"Walter!!"
A few moments later Walter knocked before he entered her room.
"Something wrong, Sir Integra?" Walter asked as he walked into her room. Then he stopped, and he stared. "Pardon the impudence, Madam but may I ask why you are holding a dead rabbit?"
"Because the other four kicked him out of bed, Walter." Integra told him with a deadpan straight face. Then she pointed to the other equally dead rabbits lined up at the end of her bed.
"What?" Walter scoffed. He was rather amused by Integra's little quip.
Integra climbed out of the bed tossing the rabbit back to its fellows as Walter inspected the rodents. Her bedsheets were thoroughly ruined. The injured rabbits had seriously stained the fabric.
"Where on earth?" he asked. Each of the rather large rabbits was pierced with an arrow.
"I was hoping that you knew." puzzled Integra, as she looked towards her bed again.
"Sir, I was referring to where we can have this bedspread laundered, it's a custom size. As for the vermin I have no idea how...."
"Walter do you think this could be a message from one of our enemies? A warning or an attack perhaps?!" She asked, as she put on her dressing gown.
"I don't think so, sir. If there was an attacker skillful enough to get this close to you completely undetected, then I do not believe they would have left you alive. Especially," Walter said straightening his monocle. "Considering that they were armed."
"He would do this," Integra hissed. Her brow furrowed in anger as she thought of him.
Walter gathered the rabbits and clucked his tongue at the damage to the lovely printed fabric.
"AAAALLLLLUUUCAAARRRDDDDD!" Integra shrieked. The scream nearly shook the walls of Hellsing Manor.
Alucard appeared out of thin air and bowed before her. "You bellowed, my beloved."
Integra just raised an eyebrow at him. "Alucard, why were those dead rabbits on my bed?"
Alucard looked at Integra's bed and then at the long eared rabbit gripped in Walter's hands. Suddenly, a huge grin spread over his face.
"Aw, poor Integra. Her rabbit has died. So when is the somber event?"
Integra started to say something, but then just pulled out the slender East India pistol from under her pillow and shot Alucard. Alucard just looked down at his chest and watched the hole heal itself.
"I forgot you had that one. Is there anything else that you're hiding in your petticoat?"
Suddenly, the door flew open and Seras glared her dark red eyes blazing. "Who the hell is shooting in here," she hissed. "There is a child in this house. You might frighten and wake up George!"
