Part 5: a new friend

When izuku Midoriya woke up in the hospital wing he noticed two visitors around his bedside, one being all might, in his de-powered form of toshinori Yagi and the most unexpected of all, ochaco uraraka. He was even more surprised when she leapt forward and pulled him into a hug,

"You big dummy, what were you thinking overusing your quirk like that! What if you had been seriously hurt! It would have been my fault." He patted her on the back, not really knowing what to do in this situation suddenly another person busted into his room. His bi-coloured haired cousin Shoto Todoroki who walked up and punched him in the arm,

"Geez Izu I knew you said we needed to do our best, but this was going overboard! You nuked half of the training area bro!" izuku chuckled slightly before turning to ochaco

"Uraraka, meet my cousin Shoto Todoroki, the son of endeavour who still can't beat me in a spar." This comment earned him another punch from shoto "Okay ow I'm sorry!" uraraka laughed at the dynamic of two boys before quickly saying

"Well as long as your all right izuku, I will be going now, bye!" she smiled and waved before stepping out of the room.

"She called you izuku," Shoto stated, a slight smile playing on his lips

"Thank you, captain, obvious." This earned a laugh from both Todoroki and toshinori.

"Oh yeah, I need to ask you something Yagi-sensei, why exactly are you here? You usually don't come and talk to us outside of training unless its something serious, what's up?" shoto nodded at this statement and Yagi shifted in his seat and explained,

"Right, you both know me as the de-powered all might and I needed to tell you boys something about my quirk, so strap in, it's going to be a long explanation. (insert an explanation of one for all and all for one here) after my fight with all for one about five years ago I received a near-fatal stomach injury that had an unfortunate side effect of limiting my time as all might and this crippled body. So I knew I needed to pass it on to another young hero before it faded completely, I was originally going to pass it on to one of you but- "

"You knew it would cause an unfriendly rivalry between us" izuku spoke up.

"Exactly," toshinori responded nodding at the boy. "I already saw how you two worked together when needed while training you at the beach and didn't want to disrupt that. So I came here to introduce you to someone. You can come in now, Kōkei."

As the boy walked in izuku took in his features about an inch taller than Todoroki with iron-grey shoulder-length hair, pale skin, and silver eyes.

"Oh, it's you from the practical exam, so your Todoroki then, all might speaks a lot about you, and you as well, I'm assuming you're Midoriya then?" he said all this very fast, but he said it with a smile. If you were going of appearance alone you would've thought he was the stoic, silent type, but he seemed to be the exact opposite, just extremely nervous around people in general.

"Slow down young Kōkei, your talking at a million miles an hour, they already know about it so you can relax." He looked as if a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

"Is that so, at least id don't have to keep up the act then." He smiled fully at the two boys. "Names Gin Kōkei, my quirk is metal manipulation, and one for all."

"So what's with the act then?" Gin laughed a little then elaborated

"before meeting all might I was incredibly nervous around everyone I met, I just don't really understand people really. When I met Yagi-sensei, he helped me through my anxiety, but I must still put up the act of quivering shy kid or people will know something is up. plus all kids care about is the fact my grandad is Yoroi Musha." Izuku laughs at that

"You don't need to worry about that with us mate, my dad's dragon's breath, and todo's is endeavour, we've had our fill of popular heroes." Gin smiled at this,

"Finally someone who understands that the people related to the pros aren't actually just extensions of them!" this elicited a laugh from all three boys. All might laughed too and buffed up into his hero form,

"Well, its good that you three are getting along as I have three pieces of good news for you all! The first, you all passed the entrance exams, young Todoroki and young Kōkei came second and third in the recommendation exams, and young Midoriya came first in the regular exams!"

"Way to hold back izuku," Todoroki muttered; the one again made the other boys laugh.

"Second, you all are going to be in the same class together on special request of Shota Aizawa!" that name sent a chill down Izuku's spine, he was loud clouds friend, did he recognise them from the incident that took his friend's life? "and third, and my favourite, I am going to be taking the position of heroics teacher this year at UA high school! This shocked the boys; their trainer and teacher would be personally supervising them in possibly their most important subject in the hero course. This was certainly going to be an interesting year.

As izuku and Todoroki were walking home later (Both families had moved in together recently for training and convenience) they were discussing their exams in great detail, especially the quirks used by others, as both were massive nerds when it came to the subject of superpowers, Todoroki brought up his meeting with yaoyorozu and the interesting comments made by inasa that izuku laughed,

"looks like you've got a crush then todo, when are you going to ask her out?"

"It's no more of a crush than the one you have on uraraka, Izu!" he said blushingly slightly, izuku abruptly stopped his laughing fit and shot back,

"its not like that and you know it!" this time it was Todoroki who laughed and the kept on bickering until they got home, and split up to get changed before dinner.
