Chapter 7
In this place dogs would stay there for a year then a human would come and take them away. We would never see them again.
All the pitbulls from the kennels have been adopted excepted for Ace and I. we both have been put into rehab to make us less aggressive and more relaxed doggy like, you know.
Ace and I share a kennel because when were apart we become more aggressive than ever before. We have become great friends and are very protective of each other. We have both been here for 11 months and are just waiting for the humans to come for both of us.
One day as me and Ace were curled up getting ready to go to sleep, when a human came to our cage and took us both out on leashes. He lead us down a long gray corridor with dim lighting.
After about a 5 minute walk he opened a door and led us both in an older male human was there and for about 10 minutes walked around us inspecting us,
“I’ll take them.” He said in a gruff voice.
*******
He pulled up to a rundown house with a lawn that wasn’t even green it was brown and smelled of rat poop.
He yanked us inside then took of the leashes and walked into the kitchen. He came back with a beer and a bag of chips. He sat down and turned on a football game. I and Ace glanced at each other than walked over and stood at the foot of his chair.
After we stood there unnoticed for about 20 minutes we were starving and started whining. The human got angry and slammed the foot rest down and stormed out of the room.
We heard him rummaging through a drawer in the kitchen. We waited to see what he was going to do. He walked back into the room with a carving knife clutched in his hand and a cruel smile on his lips.
I sent a look to Ace to no to show pain or fear. He gave me the same look.
The human brought the knife to my face and sliced my left ear and left a clean cut across the ear, I didn’t even flinch. He then continued to slice different places all over Ace and I. we went through all that pain without even flinching and didn’t whine or whimper once.
After he had done enough damage to both of us he went and passed out in the chair he was in before. I helped Ace into a dark closet and helped lick his wounds. We both fell asleep in fear of what would happen tomorrow.
