Chapter 16 {A promise}

"Oh, cool...Wait what?" Adam questioned. What does he mean Twin sister!? What other shit is he hiding from us!

"Wait so if you had a twin this whole time...how did she not know about what your umm father did-" Adam said, clearly sorry that he had mentioned the old ongoing issue.

"It's fine Adam we're past that. And it turns out that my mother separated us at birth because my father didn't want two children. Bullshit if you ask me." Josh said looking back at his sister.

"Well, hi Romelle! I'm Adam and this is my boyfriend Shiro." Adam said. He was going to let Shiro introduce himself but he didn't want her to try anything with him.

"Oh cool you're gay too! Hi I'm Romelle, and you don't have to worry Josh filled me in. I think it's really cool how you guys have an entire group of LGBTQ friends. It helps me feel more accepted than when I was a kid.." Romelle said to him. Adam knew what she meant by not being accepted he knew all about that kind of ordeal.

"Wait so you-" He wanted to know exactly if she was gay or not. There are many other things she could mean by it. She nodded her head slowly and gave a bright smile.

"I'm pansexual but I mostly lean towards girls. There just aren't any good boys to enjoy good quality time with, you know what I mean?" Romelle explained.

"I totally agree..." Adam said. He looked up at Shiro expectantly and he just gaped down at the brown haired boy. He smirked at the taller man and patted his cheek gently.

"You heard me Shirogane..." Adam said as he smirked. Shiro made a fake gasping sound, pretending to be offended, before he got an idea. Adam pulled out his water and took a sip.

"You know...eventually that will be your last name.." Shiro said as he intertwined their fingers. Adam spit out his water in surprise. He stared at Shiro in surprise. He could feel his face and ears heat up and turn red.

"You-you think we'll go that far?" Adam questioned still surprised at what his boyfriend said. Shiro smiled at his cute boyfriend and Adam smiled too. He didn't expect what was going to happen next.

"I got you something..." Shiro said. He pulled out a small ring box and opened it to reveal a black band. Adam covered his mouth with his hands and he was about to cry.

"Adam...this is a promise ring. I promise to always love you and no one else. I promise to stick by your side no matter what. Do you promise to do the same for me?" Adam was speechless. He nodded his head and hugged Shiro tightly.

They had been so busy with their little moment that they didn't notice their friends forming in a small crow around them. When they were done hugging Shiro slipped the band onto Adam's finger. It was a simple black with diamonds braided into the band. A beautiful black diamond was crested in the top of the ring. Perfect.

"How many of you knew about this?" Adam asked his friends once he noticed them surrounding them. They all raised their hands and even Romelle did. Adam was very surprised at how they had kept that secret from him.

"He's been planning this for 2 months" Shay said happily. Adam looked back at his boyfriend who was smirking coyly at him.

"You're such a dork." He said bluntly and kissed him on the cheek. The bell rang and their little party had to end. They all waved goodbye to each other as they walked to their classes respectively. What an eventful morning... Adam thought to himself.

Keith's POV

He was so happy for Adam and Shiro. Shiro was basically his brother, and he had gotten to know Adam so much better than he originally knew him. He had never expected his brother and the second best fighter in school to EVER be together.

He learned to accept that his father was a goner. He didn't like it, but he knew that acceptance was better than grieving. Even if he wanted to sulk there were better things to do than that. He decided to stop cutting as much as he did when he was sulking at home. He toned it down to at least once a week.

If Lance ever found out what he was doing he would be so upset. He understood what it was like to loose loved ones. Heck, he basically lost his whole family. Keith knew that it was wrong of him to do this behind Lance's back, but Lance was the only thing Keith was willing to live for. Lance McClain, my will to live. He wrote in his notebook as he was taking notes in his first class.

He refocused his attention to the lecture,reluctantly, and decided to focus on Lance later. He didn't want to get in trouble for day dreaming again. We're not going to go into detail about the first time but let's just say....there was a lot of ice cream.

Get your mind out of the gutter! He was day dreaming about that one time when Lance took him to get ice cream and it was right next to a playground. The thing that was funny was that they let all the children into the ice cream parlor and then they were banned from ever going back there. Reckless teenagers, what will we do with those two?

He felt as if that was the longest hour and twenty minutes of his life. He wanted his classes to be over and done with so he could go back to his friends. He wanted to see Lance again so they could cuddle. It had been a while since they were at school, so he hadn't gotten used to his warm, human, body pillow not being there with him. This is going to take a while to get used to...
