Loki stops cold. Odin wants him to go home for a report?

"No." He whispers.

"What was that?" Tony asks.

"I said "no". I won't go. I refuse. I'm never going back there." Loki hisses.

Thor takes a step forward. "Brother, you have to." He lays a gentle hand on Loki's shoulder.

The god jerks away quickly. "Don't touch me!" He yells. His face fills with fear when he realizes what he did. "I'm sorry." He whispers.

Steve looks like he wants to interfere but Thor shoots him a 'stay out of his' look. "He said if you refuse to come back he will find you and bring you back himself. He was serious."

Loki wraps his arms around his middle. "Did he say why?"

"Only that he wants to know how your time on Midgard has been." Thor turns to Steve. "He wants the Avengers and anyone Loki has spent a large amount of time with to come to Asgard and give him a report."

"He doesn't want to. I won't make him." Steve decides.

"It's not a decision. Odin really will come and drag me back to Asgard." Loki says. "I can't stay here. I won't go back but I can't put you in danger. Odin will show up and when he finds out I'm not here he'll be angry but he won't risk harming any of you." Loki says.

"Loki, you can't leave!" Peter shouts.

"I don't have a choice," Loki whispers obviously terrified.

"I won't try to stop you but what about them?" Thor asks.

"They have Reno to watch over them. He won't abandon them. They'll be fine." Loki assures him.

"You know that's not true. Reno won't leave them but they won't be fine. Reno can't defend them against Odin for long. Especially, after he finds you gone." Thor says.

Loki looks down to the ground. After a few minutes, he looks Thor in the eye. "I'll go."

Steve finally steps in. "Are you sure? You obviously don't want to go."

"I don't want to go because they are too many memories. I'll be fine." Loki schools his features into one of indifference.

"That's a lie." Tony states.

"I'm the Liesmith. If I was lying you would never be able to tell." Loki says offended. "I'm not lying. I don't enjoy going back to Asgard but I will if I must." He stalks off down the hall.

"What is the real reason he doesn't want to go home?" Steve demands as soon as the younger god is out of hearing range.

Thor glances down the hallway. "He's telling the truth. Asgard holds many unpleasant memories for him. It's only natural he wouldn't want to return there.

Loki returns before any of them can continue the conversation. He is wearing his set of leather he wore on Sakaar. His hair is dry and hanging down his back, no longer in a ponytail. He snals his fingers and Peter, Wanda and MJ are also completely dry.

"Let's go." He says coldly.

"We have to bring the rest of the Avengers." Thor reminds him. "Father wants a report from all of them."

Loki snaps his fingers and suddenly the rest of the Avengers are standing in front of them. Natasha slowly puts down her book. Bruce almost drops the test tube he's holding. Clint shrieks and holds his towel tighter.
