Lana's pov
I pouted as I saw the name George sprawled across the screen of my phone. I cleared my voice.
"Hello" I said using my best possible voice.
"Hello Lana, see me in my office right now" His voice sounded impatient.
"Ok, I'll be right there" He severed the phone call. I picked up my jacket from the cloth hanger. As if suddenly remembering something, I dipped my hand inside my bag and I brought out my mirror.
I brought it to my face and I searched for any anomaly possible. I looked at the mirror for few seconds and satisfied that there isn't any smeared lipstick or powder. I returned the mirror and I left my office for George's.
I knocked before I entered. As I entered, I saw him staring out of the window with is sleeves rolled up and his top button loosed.
He does that anytime he is thinking about something very important.
"Come here"
I walked past his desk to join him at the window.
"There's a mole here, I think he's working with the tatoo guys" George started still staring out the window.
"Oh my God.....so......" I paused
He looked at me and pushed up his eyesbrows a little as if giving me the cue to continue.
"So.....emmm.....it all makes sense now, how they got to know that we were transferring Chris that time" I continued barely breathing.
George sighed "Yea, probably.... that's what happened then"
"So who is it?" I finally asked George.
"I called him after I called you....He will open the door any minute from now" George pointed to the door and he went to seat on his desk.
"Ok th........." I paused as George's door opened slowly. I fixed my eyes on the door eager to know the person coming in. Everything was like playing in slow motion now.
My father appeared and he closed the door. I opened my eyes wide in surprise, goosebumps enveloped my whole body as I faced George. "Him?" I mouthed quietly almost like a whisper.
George suddenly covered his mouth, he looked like he was about to laugh but after few seconds he removed his hands, looked at me with a smiling face and shook his head.
I breathe with relief. Thank God. I smiled too, I looked back at my dad and I saw his eyes going to and fro between both of us.
"What's funny?" He finally said with his eyebrows up and his lips paused together.
I laughed awkwardly "ohhh.... it's nothing dad...just....ehm" I turned to look at George, he was smiling but still trying to hold back his laughter. I made the help me out here face at him. He just lifted his hands up and mouthed "Not interfering"
"Fuck you." I mouthed back at him.
"Ehm..what?" My dad's eyes are still going to and fro as if suspecting something.
My brain didn't even think of anything to say. I just said what came to my head "We were playing a game"
"And which game is that?"
I looked around George's office as if looking for a clue "ehmmm...." I remembered something. "Guessing game.....yes...A guessing game" I finally said smiling. I used the corner of my eyes to look at George. He was still smiling as if enjoying what was going on here. I would strangle him later.
"And which guessing game is that?" My dad asked again.
"Ehm....We were just guessing who was going to come in after we heard the knock" I high fived myself in my head. Good work brain.
Then we heard a knock. I looked at George. He nodded. That's probably him or her.
A person with bald head entered, closed the door and faced us. I looked at George again and he nodded. Detective Dray? You gotta be kidding me. I just maintained my straight face even though I was very surprised.
"You called for me sir" Detective Dray began.
"Yea, I just wanted to ask where the diamonds are right now"
"I put them in the storage already, you want to see them?"
"Nah, I'll probably brush by the storage later...you can go" George says with a wave of hand.
"Ok sir" with that Detective Dray opened the door and stepped out.
After Detective Dray was gone. George asked my dad.
"How long has he been here?"
"He was transferred here shortly before you came here from the country side" My father answered walking to the cushion just in front of him, he sat.
He faced me. "Lara please excuse us"
"Ok, I walked to the door, opened and closed it behind me.

George's pov
I looked at her long legs all the way to her ass as they took those long strides elegantly until the opened the door and closed it behind her. Damn those legs are my weakness.
"Are you eying my daughter even when I'm in front of you?"
Detective Dray voice jolted me out of my voice.
"Can't help it, she's too sexy"Chief Detective Jay smiles "And I'm her dad alright, have some respect"
"I know.....I like your daughter sir....very much" I added.
"That's great then, I always wanted someone as qualified as you for her"
"But I can't be with her now, not until I find who ruined my family"
Chief Detective Jay sat uprightly. "I'm actually here to discuss about that" He paused as he stood from the seat.
"I saw the report on the diamond and the Mayor's case" He paused for a moment.
"You found out that the people involved are the tatoo people that killed your family" He continued as he stared intensely at George's face.
"Yea, and I'm not gonna rest until I kill all of them myself."
"George this people are dangerous, they killed your family George, even the Mayor, they killed him too"
"That is why I must kill them all......Now that I found who will lead me to them" I closed my eyes painfully.
"Who?" Chief Detective Dray asked inquisitively
"Detective Dray, I caught him talking to them today, he told them about the diamonds and about the Mayor's case"
"That's good then, find a way to put a tracker on him and listen to his phone conversations"
"Yea, I was going to do that" I reach down to my drawer, I opened the middle one to bring out a tracker. I showed him the tracker. "I will put this on him, I know a way to get his phone conversations"
"Okay, good......but be careful, I think they got someone high backing them"
"Yes I will"
Chief Detective Jay looked at him for a few moment, he stood up to leave my office. After walking few centimeters he stopped abruptly and he faced me.
"My daughter, you know she likes you too right"
I stood from my seat. "Trust me, I know"
"Then you must protect her then, I want her safe"
"Yes sir, I was going to."
He nodded and he opened the door.
