Hanging Out

The next day arrived. Cream opened her eyes, looking over to her side. To her surprise, Speed was gone. She scanned the rest of the room- Speed was lying down next to Flora!
"Mm..." Cream murmured.
She thought for a while. Later, she walked up to Speed and gave him nudge.
"Speedy.." She said. "Wake up~"
"Not yet... F-Five more.. Minutes.." He grunted.
"No, now! Please?" She whimpered.
"Huh..?" Speed murmured, waking up. "Wait why am I here?"
"Because you fell asleep last night. In here.. Whilst we were reading," Cream answered.
"Oh, ok. Should we wake the other two up?" He said.
"No, it's thirty past six in the morning. But we can read!" She said excitedly. "Also, do you remember that we're going to the bookstore today? What about around lunch time so we can grab a bite?"
"Sure, why not?" Speed replied.
Speed and Cream sat on Cream's bed and began reading The Lord Of The Rings.
"Are there any books you really want that you haven't got?" Cream asked.
"Well, I've been wondering recently if they have any Love Sick manga in the Book Store.. I heard a few pokemon talking about it, and I've wanted to read it out ever since," Speed said.
"It sounds interesting." Cream said.
"What about you? Are there any books you want?" He asked.
"Well, yes. I do really want a book called The Name Of The Wind. There's also The Hobbit and The Two Towers that I still need to get, but I'm planning on getting those today," Cream replied happily.
"You clearly read a lot of fantasy books," Speed sighed.
"You should read them all with me! It'll be fun," Cream suggested.
"Sounds alright with me," Speed said, yawning.

--Later--

Stella yawned. "Morning..."
"Good morning, how did you sleep?" Speed asked.
"AhHhHhH-- Oh hi Speedy, what are you doing in here? And I slept well thanks, what about you?" Stella studdered.
"Um, I slept ok, thanks. And I'm in here because.. Reasons?" He replied, startled by her scream.
"That's nice. You wanna make cupcakes with me?" Stella asked hopefully.
"Sure!" Speed said.
"Hey.. What about reading?" Cream asked, annoyed.
"We can read later. If that's ok with you, obviously," Speed responded.
"Okie- dokie!" Cream cheered.
Stella and Speed travelled downstairs.
"Why did you want my help anyways?" Speed asked.
"Well, two reasons... One, I wanna spend time with you! Two... I don't know how to cook.." She explained.
"Oh, ok," Speed said. "But why not Pearl? You two have a lot of catching up to do," Speed questioned.
"I can do that another time. Besides, Pearl isn't very fun to cook with in my opinion," She told him.
"Fair enough," Speed said.
"Well, let's get baking then!" Stella exclaimed excitedly.
"We need to get all of the ingredients and tools out first," Speed said, reaching for one of the cupboards.
However, it was too tall for his reach.
"Why did Pearl put these so high up..?!" He muttered to himself.
"Need a paw?" Stella asked after grabbing a plastic bowl and scales.
"N-No, I'm fine," Speed said, trying to cover up his issues reaching the ingredients.
"You sure?~" She teased.
"Yes!" Speed said, slightly annoyed by her persistance.
He suddenly felt a ribbon curl around his waist. He was lifted into the air so he could reach the cupboard.
"T-Thanks.." He said, opening the cupboard and grabbing the sugar.
"Your welcome, shortie~" Stella said, teasing him.
"Hey!" Speed shouted. "I'm not short, Pearl just has the cupboards really high up!"
"Sure she did," Stella mocked him.
"Hmph.." Speed grabbed the rest of the ingredients from out of the cupboard, then Stella lowered him down.
"You're hilarious and adorable sometimes.." She sighed, shrugging.
"Hey! I'm not cute!" He debated.
"Lies, I tell you!" Stella said.
"W-Whatever, let's just make the cupcakes.." Speed said, trying to not focus on things like that.
"Okay, if you say so~" Stella replied.
They made the cupcake batter and started mixing it with a whisk (electric whisk!). Speed got some of it on his face, which was at least to him--

Sky: Kris, no fourth wall breaking right now! But I guess they didn't need to take a hint. So thanks, I guess? The fourth wall wants its existance back but that won't happen on our watch!)
--something that means trouble. And, surprise surprise, he was right. Stella walked up to him and licked the batter off his face. "W-Why did you lick my face..?!" Speed asked, surprised.
"Because you had cake batter all over it," Stella said.
"You shouldn't eat cake batter, it's not good for you," Speed told her.
"Neither is being so cute and clumsy that you get cake batter all over your face in the first place. In fact, I'm pretty sure cake cooked isn't good for you," Stella protested.
"S-Shut up.." Speed stammered.
They put cake batter into cupcake cases, and then put them in the oven to cook for 25 minutes.
"Should we make something to go on top of them whilst they are cooking?" Stella asked.
"Yeah, why not?" Speed replied.
"Yay, let's make buttercream!" Stella cheered.
"Sounds good. Not sour buttercream though.." Speed agreed.
"Who likes sour buttercream?" Stella questioned.
"Black." Speed sighed.
"Bleh.." Stella murmured.
They made the buttercream whilst the cupcakes were cooking. Stella got a spoon, scooped some buttercream out and plopped it on Speed's head.
"H-Hey! What was that for?" Speed whined, confused.
"Eating it off your head," Stella informed him, winking.
"Then it would have fur in it though," Speed said. However, it waas too late. She had began licking it off his head. He sighed.
"Yummy!" Stella cheered.
"Furry.." Speed murmured.
"If it had some of your fur in some of you would be a part of me!" She giggled.
"Then you'd have some of my DNA," Speed told her.
"Um...." Stella murmured.
The timer went off for the cupcakes and Speed took them out of the oven.
"They smell so good!~" Stella sang happily.
"Mhm!" Speed agreed, smiling.
"Can we put the buttercream on them?" Stella asked exitedly.
"Not yet, we have to wait for them to cool down. When they're cooler we can decorate them to our heart's content," Speed informed her.
"Aww.." She sighed. "Can we play a game whilst we wait?"
"Um.. Sure, I guess," Speed responded.
"Let's play.... Hide and Seek?" Stella suggested.
"Ok, you hiding or seeking?" Speed asked.
"I'll seek. You have 1 minute to hide, starting.. NOW!" Stella said, closing her eyes to count.
Speed ran up to Silvia's room. He knocked on her door and she opened it immediately.
"Hi, Speedy! What do you need?~" She asked, sounding a bit flirty.
"Stella and I are playing hide and seek whilst we wait for the cupcakes to cool. Can I hide as one of your plushies?" Speed said hastily.
"Sure," Silvia said. "Can I join you guys next round but instead of Hide and Seek, Sardines?"
"Maybe, ask Stella when she finds me," Speed answered, hiding as a smiling jolteon plushie.
"Yay! Thank you~ I'll go back to playing now, make it look natural," Silvia cheered.
"No problem! And thanks.." Speed whispered before becoming silent.
