"we should do this more often." Falconkit mewed.

It was getting dark. Dawn patrol was out. Falconkit had a piece of mice in her paws. Colverpaw had a vole, silverpaw had a black Bird, and swallowpaw had a water vole. Falconkit looked over to see firepelt talking to some cats. One yellow tabby didn't look pleased. Firepelt twitched his tail in annoyance.
"Hey, cloverpaw!" Falconkit mewed. "Why does that tabby over there not look so happy?"
"That's lightningstrom. He's been a pain in the tail ever since firepelt was made deputy."
   "Why?"
"Because he mentored firepelt. Then firepelt was chosen to mentor Peachfur." He explained. "Our previous leader passed away from illness, and when diamondstar choose a deputy she chose firepelt instead of lightingstorm. Lightingstorm was then mad because he was older then firepelt and had mentored him before he did. So now he's like that."
Falconkit stayed silent for two heartbeats. Then nodded. Lightningstrom didn't seem like a nice cat.
When they finished cloverpaw showed her the apprentices den.
"We'll make you a nest when you become an apprentice." Cloverpaw insisted.
"No no! I'm fine I can make my own."
"Oh ok! If you need help let me know." He beamed
   Falconkit suddenly dropped her ears.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" She asked.
"Because!" He meowed. "Your different from the other kits."
   "I am?"
"Yeah!" Silverpaw purred. "They just sit around and boast about they're skills to try to impress us."
"I'm sure you'll be a great warrior some day!" Swallowpaw mewed.
She lifted her ears. These were really nice cats.
Suddenly firepelt burst though the undergrowth. When did he leave? His back was bleeding. And his ear was torn. Diamondstar pushed her way out of the medicine den. When did she get there?
   "What happened!" She hissed
Firepelt was trying to catch his breath.
"Shadowclaw!" He panted. "There attacking on our side of the border! Peachfur and dawnstrike are there!"
   Diamondstar gathered some cats.
"Briarbush, lightingstorm, and gingerstep!" She called.
A brown and white she-cat ran out the warriors den followed by a pale tortoiseshell Tom. Lightningstrom was already at diamondstar.
"You three go and find dawnstrike and Peachfur. And lightingstorm." She turned her gaze to him. "Don't do anything stupid after battle.i know how you Are." He rolled his eyes and nodded, then they headed out. Firepelt tried to follow but was stopped by diamondstar.
"You stay and go get your wounds checked."
His ears dropped. Then he limped to the medicine den where hawthornclaw was waiting. Falconkit jumped up and ran in the medicine den. She spotted hawthornclaw putting cobwebs on firepelts wounds. Firepelt did not look pleased. Falconkit pushed her way in and stopped when firepelt turned to her. His eyes blazing. He turned away.
"Are you okay firepelt?" She asked. No answer.
   Hawthornclaw looked at her.
"He's fine falconkit. Go get some sleep you look tired."
He was right. She was tired. But she wasn't going back there.
"Do in have to go back? What if berryfur gets me?"
Uh oh! She shouldn't have said that. Firepelt turned to her.
"Don't worry falconkit." He meowed. His gaze was soft now. It made her wanna sleep more.
"Hawthornclaw? Can she sleep with you?"
"Sure!" He mewed. "It gets lonely most nights."
Falconkit beamed with joy. But that quickly faded when featherkit trotted in with goldenkit. He had his head down while featherkit looked like she was enjoying herself.
"I thought I'd find you here falconkit." She mewed there was a hint of taunt in her mew.
"What do you want?" Hawthornclaw meowed. "You better have a reason for coming here."
"Mother said falconkit will sleep in the nursery tonight."
"How did she know she wasn't."
Featherkit hesitated. Goldenkit just looked like he was ready to go.
"Do you know goldenkit?" Hawthornclaw asked. He shrugged but flicked his ears strangely. Hawthornclaw nodded.
"Tell her she'll be there in a minute."
   Featherkit nodded and trotted off.
   "Come on goldenkit!" She hissed.
"He'll be there in a minute." Firepelt hissed.
She glared at falconkit one more time before leaving. When her scent was out of reach hawthornclaw turned to him.
   "What is it?" Hawthornclaw asked.
"Berryfur and morningmoon told us to listen to your conversation to make sure it didn't involve falconkit. That's how we knew."
Hawthornclaw exchanged a look with firepelt.
"Why are you telling us?" He asked.
"Because..." He hesitated. "Don't tell them I told you!" Then dashed off. Strange...
   Hawthornclaw sighed.
"Sorry falconkit. You have to go back."
She just nodded. However she tried, she would never escape her mother. She slowly trotted away leaving hawthornclaw and firepelt. When she finally made it inside the nursery, the kits lunged at her from behind. Dirtkit was scratching her eye, smallkit was biting her ear, and featherkit was clawing her hind legs. Goldenkit was watching. He couldn't bare to see more. He turned away and covered his ears. Falconkit was trying to call for help but the pain kept her shut. Berryfur was snickering at her. Falconkit knew it wouldn't work but she had to try.
   "Please...help me."
Berryfur stopped and stood up. The kits surried away. She placed her paw on falconkits back. She gasped in pain. It hurt. It hurt really bad! Her vision blurred. Her claws scraped the Earth floor. She needed to get free! She needed help!
"You think I'd help you!" Berryfur hissed. She leaned closer pushing all her pressure on her back."I'd never help some pest who took everything away from me! Never!"
One last chance, she cried out for help. Loud enough for at least some cat would hear. I hope! Starclan help me! Suddenly her vision went black. She heard the drumming of paw steps.

   "Berryfur I can't....."

She couldn't hear what they were saying.

   "The warriors code..."

   "You should be..."

   "Your gonna be o....Kay!"

   "Falcon...."

   "Shes not...."

   "Did we loose...."

   "I-i don't know....."

Is this what it feels like to die? It doesn't hurt at all. For once... It doesn't hurt.
